Li Jiangzong

Biography

A favored heir trained in True Fire

Li Jiangzong is Li Zhoufang's eldest son and a promising cultivator of the first lineage. By the time his father asks that he study beside Li Minggong, he has entered Qi Cultivation and follows the True Fire Dao through the Pheasant Flame Long March Technique. He becomes one of the family's next-generation artifact smiths under Chu Minglian, learning carefully while also assuming responsibility for Qingdu. His father's long grief over Li Chengqi's death unsettles him; Zhouwei's letter eventually steadies Zhoufang, relieving Jiangzong of a strain he had been unable to resolve himself. (Chapters 1303, 1312, 1417, 1467, 1525)

A tactful steward of a divided lineage

Jiangzong's influence rests as much on judgment as cultivation. He apologizes to Li Zhouluo for Zhoufang's harsh words and arranges a private performance to ease relations, then manages family registrations, inheritance records and the selection of heirs. When old divisions could burden the next generation, he tactfully avoids naming Li Xixuan while placing children in their proper lineage. (Chapters 1491–1492, 1609–1612)

Foundation and river defense

During the northern war, Jiangzong enters seclusion at Li Ximing's direction and emerges at Foundation Establishment. He then presides over clan affairs, coordinates defenses with his brother-in-law Sima Xunhui, and oversees the handling of captives along the river. (Chapters 1625, 1721)

Appearance and personality

Jiangzong first appears as a square-faced young man with bright eyes. He is courteous and composed, and later wears crimson robes while carrying the authority of the family steward. His tact with Zhouluo and care in recording lineage show a deliberate concern for family relationships alongside formal rank. (Chapters 1312, 1491, 1609, 1721)

Abilities and cultivation

True Fire and artifact craft

Jiangzong cultivates the True Fire Dao with the Pheasant Flame Long March Technique. His father arranges for him to study with Li Minggong, and he later trains with the artifact smith Chu Minglian, becoming one of the family's next-generation smiths. True Fire supports his artifact work. He later reaches Foundation Establishment during seclusion. (Chapters 1303, 1312, 1525, 1721)

Administration and command

Jiangzong's stewardship includes registering names and incense lineages, deciding principal and secondary heirs, coordinating family resources and managing wartime river defenses. When Li Ximing asks for formation flags during Suining's initiation, Jiangzong retrieves the Long Light Star-Concealing Flags from the family stores; he handles them as a custodian, not as their owner. (Chapters 1609–1612, 1721)
