Biography

General of Zhao State

When Li Ximing meets him, Gongsun Bei is identified as a Radiant Essence cultivator whose standing makes him a figure to watch. As general, he works among the Great Zhao clans and speaks with the court’s former cultivators, including Daisi. Before the southern campaign, he explains that he has borrowed the Radiant Light Separate Rite Treasure Platform from the Pavilion of Profound Order. He knows its extraordinary suppressive power comes at a steep cost in divine-ability mana, yet considers it suitable for the mission. (Chapters 1562, 1697)

The assault on Li Zhouwei

Gongsun Bei commits himself to the campaign’s objective and attacks Li Zhouwei alongside Mingxiang. A veteran of many battles, he presses openings without hesitation: his crimson axe knocks Zhouwei’s halberd aside and wounds him, while Invocation to Replace the Night strips away Zhouwei’s radiance. When the fight turns, Bei deploys the borrowed platform and a talisman, accepting that the mission requires extreme measures. The platform’s light closes around him, Zhouwei, and Mingxiang; the conflict continues with Bei and the platform still threatening Zhouwei in Chapter 1707. (Chapters 1701–1704, 1707)

Appearance and personality

Bei is tall and armored, with a scar across his face, a sharp gaze, and a beard. He is calm under pressure and fights with the assurance of an experienced general. (Chapters 1562, 1697, 1704)

Abilities and cultivation

Bei cultivates Radiant Essence and is described as having three divine abilities at his command. Invocation to Replace the Night produces a clear radiance that dissolves Yang Apex light. He wields a crimson axe effectively against Bright Yang defenses, and his skill as a veteran lets him press attacks when an opponent hesitates. (Chapters 1562, 1702, 1704)
