Fuxun

Fuxun is the demon king of Xipo, a politically connected cultivator who uses his fortune-sensing ability and alliances to secure a rare pill. (Chapters 1475–1476, 1541)

Biography

Building an alliance for the pill

Fuxun welcomes Li Ximing to Xipo and seeks his help refining a pill. He draws on his friendship with Qingyan and his own standing in the region to assemble the needed support, while explaining that his cultivation of Auspicious Essence grants a divine ability to sense fortune and misfortune and enhance luck. When Yuanbian arrives, Fuxun realizes that the two guests are enemies; instead of letting the meeting collapse, he relies on Liu Changdie’s assurance and keeps the negotiations intact. (Chapters 1475–1478)

Securing a lasting friendship

Fuxun brokers an exchange with Huoyang that gives Li Ximing the Red Pheasant Surging Radiant Flame in return for alchemical help. He later entrusts spirit materials to Ximing and helps him with the journey, while a finished Aspiration Ascension Profound Pill resolves Fuxun’s greatest cultivation worry. Their friendship deepens: Fuxun escorts Ximing to the sea after his visit, and later goes to find Liu Changdie. (Chapters 1479–1481, 1487, 1541, 1730)

Appearance and personality

Fuxun can transform into the form of a white-robed scholar, though his red-and-white mottled eyes retain a demonic appearance. He speaks with polished courtesy and a Jiangnan accent, and is forthright about his ambitions while carefully tending his alliances. (Chapters 1475–1476)

Abilities and cultivation

Fuxun cultivates Auspicious Essence through the Scroll of Fortunate Attainments. He says his divine ability senses fortune and misfortune and can enhance luck; its limits remain unknown. (Chapters 1476, 1479)
