Warren Emmerson is the younger of the Soul Swap Twins and one of the rare people able to operate the Soul Swapper. Because Warren repeatedly occupies borrowed bodies, his identity follows his Grade B soul rather than any temporary face, sex, species, or physical class.

Biography

Intelligent Plague and the Association

Warren and his elder brother Jill Emmerson escape years of Modo captivity by moving their souls into temporary bodies and recovering the Soul Swapper. Still burdened by mind traps planted in their souls, they plan to drain other souls, leave the Shattered Star Ring, and grow strong enough to resist pursuit. Their flight reaches Planet Earth Ring, where Manison locks down the population and Han Xiao's forces join the search. Warren and Jill continue changing shells, but they are eventually captured while occupying female bodies. After Feidin proves he can also use the Soul Swapper, their bargaining value collapses; Ames kills both twins, and Hila takes their souls into her Underworld mark for interrogation. Appearance and personality

Warren has no stable physical appearance in the supplied corpus because his soul changes bodies. He first appears occupying one member of a male-and-female Spacehuman pair and is captured in a female body; neither shell is established as his original body. He is anxious about pursuit but shares Jill's ambition, callous willingness to consume souls, and belief that the twins are uniquely chosen. Abilities and class

Warren's soul is Grade B and is specially qualified to use the Soul Swapper. With it, he can move souls among bodies, retain his own soul strength, and hide behind changing physical identities. His bodily combat class and grade depend on the occupied shell and are not part of his permanent identity. The device, rather than an innate Esper ability, performs the swaps.
