Traveler

Traveler is a Beyond Grade A Mage who presents himself as a neutral secondary-dimension explorer while secretly serving the Star Arc Civilization. His assignment to distract Han Xiao during the attack on Hila leads to his capture and public execution.

Biography

The Black Star Mercenary Group

Traveler does not appear as an individual during this phase. The word “traveler” in the cited early chapters is descriptive: an unnamed passerby speaks to another character, a DarkStar vessel is disguised as an ordinary traveler ship, and Alvin calls himself a traveler while visiting Noriosse. None is identified as the later Beyond Grade A Mage, whose distinctive identity and direct narrative presence are established only in Chapter 1045. Treating these generic uses as his actions would incorrectly merge unrelated people and objects. (Chapters 372, 374, and 475)

The Flickering World

The apparent occurrences in Chapters 926 and 940 are likewise common-noun or figurative uses rather than scenes involving Traveler. One describes a woman's travel clothing, while the other compares a galactic city to a tired traveler changing character at night. The corpus provides no evidence that the Beyond Grade A Mage is present, acting through a disguise, or being recalled in either passage. His biography therefore has no source-grounded event in this phase before the identity-specific introduction that follows. (Chapters 926 and 940)

Intelligent Plague and the Association

Traveler appears publicly as a taciturn neutral who spends most of his time in secondary dimensions, but secretly remains loyal to the Star Arc Civilization and works through the Super Star Cluster Alliance. Sorokin arranges for him to challenge Han at Black Star Palace while Hila is under attack, using the duel to divide Han's attention. Traveler instead fights Ames, deliberately sacrifices vitality to strengthen his bond with the Evil Convergence dimension, and overlays that hostile dimension onto the palace's surroundings. He escapes the immediate battle, but the Crimson Dynasty sends Clotti after him. Traveler gathers secondary-dimension allies for an ambush, fails to stop the pursuit, and is captured alive. The dynasty publicly misidentifies him as a Modo operative, then executes him and another captive with the Key of Destruction, annihilating both prisoners and the barren planet beneath them. Later references to his dimension or secret allegiance are retrospective and do not indicate survival. (Chapters 1045–1058, 1068–1088, 1091–1097, 1191, and 1224–1225)

Appearance and personality

Traveler is a gray-skinned humanoid with no nose, yellow crystal eyes with vertical pupils, messy gray hair, and three fingers on each hand. He wears a gold ring, a gold headband, and a brown hooded robe, and carries a branch-like staff. Usually quiet and controlled, he hides strong loyalty beneath a mercenary facade. He accepts a dangerous mission for his civilization and refuses to expose its role after capture. His bond with Evil Convergence also alters his demeanor in battle, making him increasingly ecstatic, possessive, and cruel as its power takes hold. (Chapters 1045–1050 and 1091–1097)

Abilities and class

Traveler is a Beyond Grade A Mage with extensive instant casting, rune shields, teleportation, substitution magic, and secondary-dimension knowledge. His Puppet Replacement Spell turns a lethal hit into damage to a clay substitute, but each use consumes a large share of his health, energy, and attributes. He deliberately pays that cost because the lost vitality feeds Evil Convergence, allowing him to draw more of the dimension's power into the main universe. (Chapters 1048–1055)

Through sustained effort, Traveler earns the Mark of Evil Convergence and connects himself to the dimension's core. The link supplies energy, protects him with purple-green matter, and lets him open a breach through which the dimension overlaps ordinary space and produces enormous regenerative tentacles. He can gather allies and operate effectively inside secondary dimensions, but his power remains tied to that environment: Han Xiao and Clotti exploit the dimension's instability and traversal routes during the pursuit that ends in his capture. Relationships

• Sorokin: Sorokin uses Traveler as the active piece in a plan to distract Han Xiao, then fears that the captured Mage will reveal his involvement.
• Ames: Traveler challenges Han at Black Star Palace but fights Ames instead, using their battle to feed and summon Evil Convergence.
• Clotti: Clotti pursues Traveler through the secondary dimensions, captures him, and presides over the force responsible for his execution.
• Han Xiao: Traveler's mission targets Han's attention and organization. Han later assists Clotti during the secondary-dimension pursuit and helps ensure the operation succeeds.
• Hila: The attack on Hila creates the opportunity Traveler is hired to exploit, although the two do not directly fight.

Items

Traveler carries a twisted, branch-like magical staff and wears a gold ring and headband, but none receives a distinct name or established independent history. His Mark of Evil Convergence is a magical bond with a secondary dimension rather than a separate owned item. (Chapters 1045–1055)
