Onicelu

Onicelu is the consciousness entity of the Underworld secondary dimension, presenting herself as its butler and grave keeper. Rather than inhabiting the dimension as an ordinary resident, she is its personified awareness: Underworld itself is her body, and she administers its energy, Hero Spirits, and inherited bond with Hila and Aurora.

Biography

Intelligent Plague and the Association

Onicelu awakens when the interaction between Hila's and Aurora's powers begins restoring the dying Underworld. Appearing as an orange-gold spirit, she explains that the dimension was created by their predecessors, Nerkese and Eros, and that those founders truly died rather than reincarnating; only their Esper Ability seeds and associated knowledge passed to the sisters. She asks Hila and Aurora to accept the inheritance and become Underworld's new masters, then advises them on its recovery. When dimensional predators approach through a space storm, she warns Hila, identifies the threat to her own dimensional body, and provides Underworld's energy for the defense. (Chapters 1078–1079, 1125, 1134, and 1206)

Sanctum Revival and the Super Crisis

As Underworld recovers, Onicelu guides Han Xiao into its energy core and explains the mechanisms governing its Hero Spirits. Her identity remains inseparable from the place: when she permits access, the dimension itself is effectively cooperating. She later manifests chains of Underworld energy to restrain Sorokin's soul, preventing his escape and helping convert him into a controlled Hero Spirit. Afterward, she and Aurora cooperate with Sorokin's internal contribution system, linking its currency to opportunities for Hero Spirits to revive and remain active. (Chapters 1217, 1235–1236, 1244–1245, and 1302)

The World Tree War

Onicelu receives the souls gathered for Underworld during the World Tree War and addresses the newly formed Hero Spirits after their deaths. When the confused soldiers become disorderly, she demonstrates absolute local authority by muting them and repeatedly resetting the surrounding space, then allows Han Xiao to calm and organize them. This Chapter 1343 scene is her last direct appearance. Chapter 1382 only recalls her earlier statements about the dead founders, while Chapter 1440 invokes an Onicelu Character Summon Card; neither is a later manifestation of Onicelu herself, so her postwar fate is not directly established. (Chapters 1343, 1382, and 1440)

Appearance and personality

Onicelu presents as a feminine orange-gold spirit with a warm, gentle smile and a calm telepathic voice. This appearance is an avatar rather than a biological body, because the entire Underworld dimension is her actual form. She is patient, courteous, and attentive to her custodial duties, explaining difficult truths without melodrama and treating Hila and Aurora as rightful inheritors. Her gentleness does not imply weakness: when Hero Spirits threaten order, she exercises total control over their environment without hesitation. (Chapters 1078–1079, 1206, 1236, and 1343)

Abilities and class

Onicelu is a dimensional consciousness, not a Super assigned to one of the five ordinary classes. She controls Underworld's energy and internal environment because the secondary dimension is her body. Within it, she can manifest an avatar, communicate telepathically, move or reshape local space, silence Hero Spirits, bind souls with energy chains, govern access to the dimension's core, and administer the mechanism that stores and revives Hero Spirits. Her power is therefore greatest and most absolute inside Underworld rather than functioning like an independent combatant's class abilities. (Chapters 1078, 1206, 1235–1236, 1244–1245, and 1343)

Relationships

  • Hila: Hila is one of Underworld's two inheritors and masters. Onicelu introduces her to the dimension, advises her about its condition, and calls on her when outside creatures threaten it.
  • Aurora: Aurora's life energy is essential to restoring Underworld and reviving its Hero Spirits. Onicelu recognizes her as the second inheritor and later works with her in administering the spirit population.
  • Han Xiao: Onicelu grants Han access to Underworld's deeper mechanisms and cooperates in expanding and organizing its Hero Spirits. Han later uses a Character Summon Card bearing her name, which represents borrowed power rather than her direct arrival.
  • Sorokin: Onicelu helps capture Sorokin's soul and subjects him to Underworld's rules. He later becomes a useful Hero Spirit organizer, but remains within a system over which she and Aurora hold final authority.

Items

Onicelu has no established personal item. Underworld is not equipment she carries or owns in an ordinary sense; it is her dimensional body. The energy chains, spatial control, and Hero Spirit mechanisms are manifestations or functions of that body rather than separate artifacts.
