Joey
Joey Terrain, titled the Mystery Mage, is an elderly hermit who leads four Beyond Grade As living in the secondary-dimension Land of Four Gods. Centuries of study raise him to the pinnacle realm, though caution and attachment to seclusion shape his decisions.
Biography
Sanctum Revival and the Super Crisis
Joey discovers Han near the Land of Four Gods and, after negotiations, joins his companions in a controlled spar. His summons and dimension-specific magic prove formidable but cannot overcome Han's forces. Having witnessed the Tragedy of the Pinnacles, Joey fears exposure to the Universal Civilizations and initially seeks Sanctum Revival without institutional obligations. He later accepts that this is untenable and joins the Beyond Grade A Association on terms protecting the Land's coordinates and the group's freedom. In Han's previous timeline, Joey was eventually killed and absorbed by the World Tree; that forecast does not occur in the current cited events. (Chapters 1274–1276, 1295, 1299, and 1304–1308)
Appearance and personality
Joey is an elderly man and courteous host who conjures refined furniture, tea, and snacks for negotiations. He is knowledgeable but cautious, socially reserved, and indecisive when safety and commitment conflict. His reluctance is rooted in remembered persecution rather than cowardice alone.
Abilities and class
Joey is a pinnacle Beyond Grade A Mage whose strength comes from accumulated knowledge. He creates portals and prototype dimensions, summons and buffs contracted secondary-dimension creatures, draws power from a Mage Pagoda, teleports, heals, and exiles machinery into chaotic dimensional currents. Some self-created spells work only inside secondary dimensions.
Relationships
- Han Xiao: Han defeats Joey's group in a spar, rejects their attempt to obtain revival without responsibility, and later admits them to the association under negotiated conditions.
- Elf King Dylan: Joey comes from the same era as Dylan, but no close personal bond is established.
- Oathkeeper: Oathkeeper's revival network and the association's promise influence Joey's decision to rejoin galactic affairs.
- The other Land of Four Gods hermits: Joey speaks as their head, but they are distinct experts rather than his summons or alternate identities.
Items
