Jayz
Jayz is a Mechanic from a universe iteration that ended long before the main story. Han Xiao and Kasuyi meet only an Information Form reconstruction of him inside a secondary-dimension spacetime loop. Retaining memories across repeated resets, Jayz trades his accumulated technology and knowledge of the Sanctums for their help ending the loop.
Biography
Intelligent Plague and the Association
Jayz first receives Han and Kasuyi as the unnamed leader of the Eye of Insight, then explains that he and the Celestial Star Alliance are long-dead historical phantoms. As the only inhabitant who remembers roughly a thousand repeated cycles, he has spent many of them infiltrating databases, collecting technology, and preparing to destroy the dimensional consciousness sustaining the loop. He identifies himself in Chapter 1200, teaches Han Mechanic skills, and guides both outsiders into the Superpower Security Department's warehouse. After they destroy the Guardian, Jayz transfers the remainder of his archive, asks Han to attempt a future cross-iteration revival, and peacefully disperses with the collapsing Information Form. (Chapters 1198–1204)
Sanctum Revival and the Super Crisis
Jayz does not return as a living or projected participant during the Super Crisis. References to him in this phase concern the information he left behind: Han tests Jayz's account of the Sanctums against Oathkeeper's claims, studies the inherited Gold-grade blueprints, and builds advanced equipment from that research. Jayz warned that even a successful Sanctum revival would create a new version without the loop's memories, and the supplied corpus never shows such a revival occurring. The continuing influence of his knowledge therefore must not be treated as evidence that the historical projection survived Chapter 1204. (Chapters 1212–1305)
The World Tree War
During the World Tree War, Han repeatedly deploys machines and concealment technology derived from Jayz's archive. These later mentions describe authorship or technical inheritance, not Jayz's physical presence, consciousness, or current activity. Han also recalls information Jayz gave him about earlier outsiders to the loop, but does not identify a revived Jayz among the historical Supers. His legacy materially strengthens the explored universe's war effort while his personal status remains unchanged: the original belonged to a destroyed iteration, and the looped Information Form has dispersed. (Chapters 1320, 1349, and 1390)
Appearance and personality
Jayz's looped form is tall, scrawny, and shriveled, with tubes inserted throughout his body. He has two pairs of green eyes of different sizes and a facial scar that blinds both eyes on his left side. Millennia of repetition leave him hoarse, guarded, patient, and emotionally exhausted, but he remains intellectually curious and is capable of surprise when Han rapidly masters his teachings. He faces the loop's destruction with relief. (Chapters 1198, 1200–1201, and 1204)
Abilities and class
Jayz is a Level 367 Beyond Grade A Mechanic with exceptional research and development ability. He creates Information Form interference and concealment technology, teaches methods for storing a mechanical army inside one's body, and accumulates a vast archive of advanced and Gold-grade blueprints. His retained memory makes repeated infiltration and experimentation possible even though the loop resets his physical progress. (Chapters 1199–1201 and 1205)
Relationships
- Han Xiao: Jayz teaches Han, entrusts him with a technological archive, and calls him his successor across universe iterations. Han later develops much of that inheritance into equipment. (Chapters 1200–1205 and 1218–1265)
- Kasuyi: Kasuyi helps Jayz break the loop but cannot learn his Mechanic skills directly. He and Han negotiate over access to Jayz's technology while remaining necessary partners in the operation. (Chapters 1200–1205)
- Oathkeeper: Jayz never directly meets Oathkeeper in the supplied corpus. Han instead uses Jayz's Sanctum explanation as an independent standard against which he judges Oathkeeper's incomplete account. (Chapter 1212)
Items
Jayz has no named personal item in the supplied inventory. His major legacy is a technological archive rather than a single possession; later equipment constructed from it belongs to Han and does not indicate Jayz's survival.
