Harrofal

Harrofal is a Tyla Civilization professor and research-oriented Grade A Mechanic whose wormhole work brings him into contact with Han Xiao. Although he has little combat experience, his inventions help them survive an attack by an EsGod doppelganger, and the recorded data from that encounter remains important after his murder.

Biography

Mutation Disaster and the Secret War

Harrofal maintains the 0358 Wormhole Sector observation station while serving as a professor and vice principal at a government mechanic school. After Han Xiao completes a lengthy technical commission, Harrofal gives him the Ice Age Star Freezing Cannon blueprint. Their meeting is interrupted by the DarkStar leader and an EsGod doppelganger, forcing the two Mechanics to cooperate. Harrofal supplies a Wormhole Probe Beacon and retrieves Han Xiao after he lures the doppelganger into an unstable wormhole, turning research equipment and local data into the key to their escape. (Chapters 701–705)

The Evolution Cube and Crimson Dynasty

EsGod's agents later target Harrofal for the recorded destination data. Orozen and his companions kidnap him from the Tyla school, and Harrofal sends Han Xiao a final warning identifying EsGod before Orozen drains his blood while he is still alive and reads the needed memories. Han Xiao kills Orozen and sends the body to the Tyla Civilization, avenging his friend. He later visits Harrofal's school and recovers the backup wormhole data that the professor had uploaded, preserving the result of Harrofal's research despite the theft of his laboratory detectors. (Chapters 743–755 and 815–816)

Appearance and personality

Harrofal is an old man with claret-colored skin, white hair, and a white beard. His straight back and fitness make him appear tougher than his age suggests. He is irritable when experiments are interrupted but respects Han Xiao as a fellow master Mechanic, enjoys technical discussion with him, and remains composed enough during a surprise attack to follow a risky wormhole plan despite his limited combat experience. (Chapters 701 and 703–704)

Abilities and class

Harrofal is a Grade A Mechanic whose levels are concentrated in research and Scholar-like subclasses rather than battle. He specializes in wormholes, collects their changing parameters, and creates devices that can retrieve a beacon carrier from a previously measured wormhole. His deep theory and engineering talent make him valuable to the Tyla Civilization, but his combat ability is described as among the lowest of Grade A Supers. (Chapters 701 and 704)

Relationships

  • Han Xiao: Harrofal begins as Han Xiao's blueprint commissioner and technical peer, then becomes his friend and battlefield partner. Han Xiao avenges his murder and safeguards the wormhole record he left behind.
  • EsGod: An EsGod doppelganger is banished through Harrofal's research, causing EsGod to seek the destination data years later.
  • Orozen: Orozen kidnaps Harrofal, consumes his blood to read his memories, and murders him by draining that blood completely.

Items

Harrofal's most important equipment is the Wormhole Probe Beacon system, which allows a carrier to be retrieved from a measured wormhole. He also owns and transfers the Ice Age Star Freezing Cannon blueprint to Han Xiao. Neither remains a persistent personal possession after his death; his most enduring legacy is the backup of his wormhole observations. (Chapters 701, 703–704, and 815–816)
