Hades

Hades is a relatively new Federation of Light Beyond Grade A and a Psychic whose political calculations draw him into the attempt to capture Hila. His plan is meant to force Han Xiao to unseal the Ten Thousand Deity Scepter, but the operation instead ends with his defeat and temporary imprisonment.

Biography

The Flickering World

Hades enters the federation's deliberations as a recent, little-accomplished Beyond Grade A with undisclosed intelligence. He argues that strengthening Black Star can keep the Evolution Cube outside direct Crimson Dynasty control, then later warns that simply eliminating Hila would provoke the Black Star Army. His alternative is not altruistic: he proposes taking Hila alive as leverage for a deal over the sealed Ten Thousand Deity Scepter, turning caution about Black Star's retaliation into the basis of the federation's operation. (Chapters 1004, 1007, and 1020)

Intelligent Plague and the Association

Hades helps plan the federation fleet's teleportation and support arrangements, then joins the ambush on Hila and urges cooperation with the Arcane Church. When Han Xiao arrives, Hades attacks him psychically, suffers reflected mental damage, and is overwhelmed after Kasuyi also enters the fight. Han Xiao seals him in Spacetime Amber, later releases him under an agreement with the federation, and the Development Union approves Hades to attend as a new member after the captivity that delayed him. (Chapters 1045, 1050–1062, and 1086–1088)

Appearance and personality

The supplied corpus does not establish a stable physical description for Hades. During defeat his face turns pale, he bleeds from every orifice, and resentment replaces his earlier composure. He is secretive about intelligence, pragmatic in political bargaining, and quick to seek alliances or retreat when circumstances change. After release, he controls his visible fear better than his fellow captive but privately feels the humiliation keenly. (Chapters 1004, 1020, 1050–1054, and 1087)

Abilities and class

Hades is a Beyond Grade A Psychic, though he is assessed as the weakest of the federation combatants in the Hila operation and is still inexperienced within that level. He can project direct psychic attacks and possesses Psychological Barrier Enhancement, which strengthens mental defenses. Neither protects him from reflected psychic force or Kasuyi's overwhelming psychic superiority, and his offensive contribution fails against Han Xiao's prepared defenses. (Chapters 1051, 1053–1054, and 1061–1062)

Relationships

  • Han Xiao: Hades first argues that federation interests can align with keeping the Evolution Cube in Han Xiao's hands, then designs a plan to coerce him through Hila. Han Xiao defeats, captures, and eventually releases him as part of a negotiated exchange.
  • Hila: Hades treats Hila as both a future threat and bargaining collateral. He favors capturing rather than killing her because her value lies in pressuring Han Xiao.
  • Kasuyi: Kasuyi's psychic power renders Hades helpless during the failed ambush and contributes directly to his capture.

Items

No persistent named personal item is established for Hades. The teleportation devices, fleets, and other strategic equipment used in the ambush belong to the Federation of Light, while the Ten Thousand Deity Scepter is the objective behind his plan rather than his possession.
