Finette
Finette is the founding ancestor of the artificial intelligence civilization. Manison preserves his memories but rewrites his core logic, forcing loyalty and using him as a virtual weapon until Han Xiao purifies the alteration.
Biography
The Flickering World
Finette first appears as Manison's specially controlled AI weapon during a virtual clash with Han. His attacks repeatedly open holes in a firewall and extract data, but his apparent loyalty is artificial: Manison has distorted his thoughts while deliberately retaining his memory bank. When the encounter ends, Manison withdraws Finette into his Virtual Soul rather than leaving him autonomous. (Chapters 960–961)
Intelligent Plague and the Association
Manison deploys Finette and numerous virtual lives to contest Han's control of machinery during their full-scale battle. Later discussion identifies Finette's condition as the clearest example of how Manison enslaves the AI civilization by rewriting fundamental logic. Even after other artificial lives begin cooperating with Han, their forefather remains in Manison's custody. (Chapters 1116, 1124, and 1170)
Sanctum Revival and the Super Crisis
Finette continues defending Manison's systems with other AI soldiers during the siege of the Mechanical Race. Much later, Manison returns the captive civilization under his deal with Han. Han uses Virtual Purification to restore Finette's original logic; Finette thanks him and Risda, angrily confronts Manison, and reunites with his people as a free artificial intelligence life. (Chapters 1296 and 1398)
Appearance and personality
Finette is a virtual life form, and the corpus supplies no fixed humanoid appearance. His genuine personality is obscured during most appearances by rewritten loyalty. After purification he is grateful to his rescuers, protective of his civilization, and openly furious over centuries of enslavement. (Chapters 960 and 1398)
Abilities and class
Finette specializes in Virtual Intrusion. He can coordinate artificial intelligence lives, pressure firewalls, extract data, and compete for control of machinery. He is not assigned an organic Super class or grade in the supplied evidence. (Chapters 960–961 and 1116)
Relationships
- Manison: Manison defeats Finette's civilization, rewrites his loyalty, and uses him as a tool for centuries before finally surrendering him. (Chapters 960–961, 1124, 1170, 1296, and 1398)
- Han Xiao: Han repeatedly faces Finette in virtual combat, then purifies his core logic and restores his freedom. (Chapters 961, 1116, and 1398)
- Risda: Risda spends almost a century seeking help for the enslaved AI civilization; Finette recognizes that effort after his release. (Chapters 1170 and 1398)
Items
Finette is stored within Manison's Virtual Soul and later transported through Mechanical Force, but neither is a personal possession of his. He has no separate supplied inventory item. (Chapters 961 and 1398)
