Carroll

Carroll is a former Floating Dragon subordinate who defects to Bloodshed Land, gives away technology and route information, and becomes one of Heber's senior logistics officers. Protected by the Tyrant's reputation, he publicly provokes Ames until Han Xiao challenges him and exposes the limits of his machinery-centered confidence.

Biography

Mutation Disaster and the Secret War

Carroll appears beside Heber in an exquisite robe, openly leering at Ames and taunting her over his betrayal. His behavior is a deliberate probe conducted under Heber's protection rather than a spontaneous outburst. When Han Xiao challenges him on Ames's behalf, Carroll accepts and prepares an arena with effectively endless mechanical resupply, intending to humiliate his opponent through his defensive Flying Fortress style. Han Xiao's Virtual Intrusion instead seizes Carroll's machinery and defeats him decisively, costing Bloodshed Land face and yielding several of Carroll's blueprints as spoils. The Evolution Cube and Crimson Dynasty

More than ten years later, Carroll does not return for a new personal scene. Han Xiao's earlier challenge against him is recalled as an established precedent when another dispute is framed as a supposedly fair contest. The reference confirms the lasting public significance of Carroll's defeat, but it supplies no new evidence about his location, allegiance, health, or continued office; his later status therefore remains unconfirmed. Appearance and personality

Carroll is a man with a face described as more feminine than masculine. He wears an exquisite robe and initially displays an unrestrained, provocative gaze. His conduct is lecherous and arrogant, yet calculated: he insults Ames because Heber is present to shield him, and he uses both the confrontation and his prepared battlefield to test opponents and seek public advantage. Abilities and class

Carroll is a Grade A Galaxy Mechanic who follows the Heavy Machinery Style. He fields large quantities of machines, relies on continuous resupply, and uses the defensive Flying Fortress method; he is also credited with creating the Giant Soldier Ship Destroyer design at that stage of his career. These strengths are poorly matched against superior virtual control, allowing Han Xiao to take over his deployed machinery and turn the prepared advantage against him. (Chapters 611–619)

Relationships

• Ames: Carroll formerly served Floating Dragon but betrayed Ames and transferred valuable information to Bloodshed Land. He later insults her in public while relying on Heber's protection.
• Heber: Heber employs Carroll as a senior logistics officer and protects him during the confrontation with Ames. Carroll's loss to Han Xiao consequently damages the Tyrant's prestige as well as his own.
• Han Xiao: Han Xiao challenges Carroll on Ames's behalf, defeats his mechanical army through Virtual Intrusion, and takes useful blueprints from the encounter.

Items

• Flying Fortress: Carroll's defensive heavy-machinery system, supported during the duel by extensive resupply. Han Xiao's virtual abilities compromise it.
