Barbani

Barbani is a Holy Tree Emissary of the World Tree Civilization and an assimilated foreign Beyond Grade A. His brief liberation by Han Xiao yields crucial intelligence and ends with a deliberate sacrifice before the World Tree can enslave his mind again.

Biography

Sanctum Revival and the Super Crisis

Barbani serves as an executor of the World Tree's highest will, operating information-form cameras and investigating signs of outsiders. Curious about an abnormal reaction, he tracks Han Xiao with high-dimensional information vision and eagerly pursues him alone, expecting entertainment rather than a serious threat. Han's ambush heavily wounds him, and Virtual Purification temporarily removes the World Tree's mental overwrite. Memories of his civilization's destruction return, and Barbani immediately reveals the World Tree's secrets to its enemy. When he feels the network restoring control, he pushes Han away and self-destructs, asking the outsider not to lose. (Chapters 1315 and 1319–1321)

The World Tree War

Barbani is already dead during the later preparations and fighting, but the intelligence he gave Han remains strategically important. It explains the World Tree's information-form warning network, its tracking advantages, and its preference for gathering detailed intelligence before committing to an invasion. World Tree commanders adapt after seeing his purification, while Han and the three Universal Civilizations use what he disclosed to reduce exposure and shape defensive planning. Appearance and personality

Barbani is tall and ferocious-looking, resembling an arthropod beneath a suit of armor, with weak blue-green energy around his body. Under World Tree control he is terse, curious, and eager for action. He is an ordinary Beyond Grade A with an Energy Rank around 53,000 and a deep enough World Tree connection to serve as a Holy Tree Emissary.
