Wild Rider's Regalia

The Wild Rider's Regalia is the headpiece through which the Wild Rider's animal-linked role is expressed. It amplifies communication between its bearer and surrounding beasts, while its capture draws Ten’Malla, Jemma, Randidly Ghosthound, and The Creature into the same struggle.

History

Ten’Malla and the Wild Rider role

Ten’Malla first meets Randidly without the Regalia, treating the sight of her uncovered face as a rare privilege. When she later appears wearing it, the horned headpiece stretches above her small frame and gives her speech a strange echo. Its animal chorus lets thoughts and voices travel across the Wild Rider's host. (Chapters 313, 316–317, and 328)

Capture and Jemma's custody

The Wild Rider's forces are routed and both a host and the Regalia are captured. Ten’Malla explains that she had left Jemma with the artifact while away, distinguishing the enduring Wild Rider identity from a temporary wearer. Randidly later finds Jemma bound while wearing it, removes her restraints, and discovers that the artifact refuses storage in his interspatial ring. He returns it to Jemma rather than claiming it. (Chapters 339–340 and 349)

The Creature's demand

The Creature demands that Randidly hand over the Regalia, presenting the artifact as a means to humanity's salvation. Randidly refuses, and the Regalia remains part of the contest surrounding the Wild Rider and Skeleton Knight legacies. (Chapters 350 and 453)

Abilities and properties

• The Regalia is a beautiful horned headpiece tall enough to rise above a young wearer's head and alter the resonance of her voice. (Chapters 316 and 328)
• Its animal chorus enables surface-level telepathic communication across the Wild Rider's linked host. (Chapter 317)
• It cannot be placed in Randidly's interspatial ring, indicating an active restriction or bond rather than ordinary storage behavior. (Chapter 349)
