Techetadore

Techetadore Ballast is a six-tailed Vulpine prodigy and the younger brother of Raymund Ballast. His birth restores hope to a world starved of Aether, but that communal expectation draws him into the Nexus, the Swacc Family, and ultimately Fiero's grasp. Many of his most destructive appearances occur while another will is using his body; the brief movement by which he helps Raymund complete the rescue is therefore crucial proof that Techetadore remains a suppressed person rather than the same identity as his possessor. Biography

A dying world places its future on one child

Techetadore is born centuries after his world's victorious hero disappears and its Aether allotment begins to fail. His exceptional growth persuades the Vulpines that he can reverse their decline, placing the fate of an entire people on him before he is old enough to choose an ordinary life. He trains relentlessly, encourages Raymund to stop treating him as too precious to strike, and becomes decisive in combat while remaining bright and optimistic with his brother. At twenty he enters the Nexus seeking the power and employment needed to send Aether home. His last message—that Gabriel Swacc has “the piece”—follows an abruptly abandoned apprenticeship, after which both aid and communication cease. (Chapters 1514–1519, 1535, and 1544)

Raymund's memories show that Techetadore genuinely believes his elder brother can become just as strong, even while the elders' hopes isolate the younger Vulpine. Techetadore's six tails and rapid development become a constant comparison that feeds Raymund's jealousy and guilt, yet his disappearance ultimately gives that guilt a direction: Raymund joins Randidly's recruits, changes his own image, and searches for the Swacc connection. Techetadore is consequently absent from much of this pursuit, but the burden placed on him and the silence around his fate reshape his brother into the leader who will later be able to reach him. The Swacc Family turns his body into a weapon

Raymund finally encounters Techetadore near the Fifth Cohort battlefield, but the reunion reveals how badly the Nexus has compromised him. The six-tailed Vulpine appears under the name Cain, attacks his brother without warning, and serves alongside Shal in a Swacc operation. During the later battle around the white-dwarf array, the will acting through Techetadore commands near-undetectable erasure attacks and displays power that outstrips his body's prior history. Raymund perceives spectral tails connected to him, seizes one with Fiero's Audacity, and makes the occupying influence lose control long enough for Techetadore to scream. The Swacc Family retrieves him before Randidly can secure the body. (Chapters 1606 and 1641–1645)

This first failed rescue changes the question from whether Techetadore betrayed his world to how he can be separated from the force using him. Raymund recognizes a foreign presence and commits the Vulpis Squad to recovering his brother, while Randidly promises to help after settling immediate crises. A later omen identifies Techetadore and Shal as waiting outside Randidly's retreat, but their location then becomes a conspicuous tether only after Elhume attacks the Swacc Family. Techetadore still has little freedom to act in these intervals; his importance lies in the living connection that Raymund refuses to surrender and the danger that makes direct rescue impossible without confronting the Nexus's ruler. Raymund and Randidly pull him free from Fiero

Solomon Rex eventually explains that Fiero, the Patron of the Borrowed and later holder of the Elhume identity, has been strengthening his grip on Techetadore as a descendant and possible vessel. Inside the crystallized citadel, Techetadore floats above the Swacc army with hollow cheeks and brilliant eyes while the covetous spirit speaks and fights through him. Randidly deliberately draws out the ruler's power while Raymund reaches into the connection. The struggle risks tearing Techetadore's body because Fiero treats it as a usable host while Raymund must preserve the brother he is trying to save. (Chapters 2227–2228 and 2232–2239)

Randidly weakens the projected Fiero and physically restrains Techetadore's battered body, giving Raymund a narrow opening. Techetadore then moves of his own accord—not as a puppet, but as a prisoner responding to freedom—and that contribution allows Raymund to wrench Fiero's energy form away. Randidly transfers the rescued Vulpine into the Alpha Cosmos to recuperate. He remains alive there through the closing conflict, but no immediate recovery of his earlier confidence or independence is shown; liberation ends the possession without erasing the bodily harm, lost years, or strain placed on his relationship with Raymund. Appearance and personality

Techetadore is a humanoid Vulpine with six red tails. Before his disappearance, he is remembered for an impish grin, bright optimism, and the physical discipline that makes even Raymund value their daily exercises. By the citadel rescue, his cheekbones have become gaunt and hollow, his flesh appears like a mask over the intruding spirit, and his eyes shine with an uncomfortable brightness. Those later expressions and postures frequently belong to Fiero's control and should not be treated as Techetadore's chosen demeanor. (Chapters 1514–1518, 1606, and 2233–2234)

The younger Techetadore is cutthroat and decisive during combat but encouraging toward Raymund, pressing his brother to train without fear and insisting that Raymund has comparable potential. His willingness to shoulder the expectations of a failing world also suggests duty, hope, and youthful confidence. The cruel cheerfulness displayed while attacking Raymund, the contemptuous threats toward Randidly, and the ruler's grandiose speech occur under hostile influence; Techetadore's own late act is instead the small, desperate movement that helps his rescuers free him. Abilities and progression

Techetadore's established personal strengths are Vulpine physicality, extraordinary growth potential, disciplined training, and an image related to the deity revered on his homeworld. His later body channels much greater powers through Swacc and Fiero connections, but the boundary between his capability and the possessor's arsenal is deliberately unstable. No reliable character-specific sequence of formal ranks is established, so those borrowed displays are treated as temporary impositions rather than advancement milestones. Vulpine body, training, and native image

Techetadore's six tails accompany unusual speed and physical force. As a youth he develops explosively, eventually surpasses Raymund in most disciplines, and maintains daily exercises rigorous enough to leave a lasting impression on his elder brother. Both brothers form closely related images of their world's Vulpine deity, which later lets Raymund recognize the foreign tails attached to Techetadore. The resemblance is also a vulnerability: the force controlling Techetadore attacks Raymund partly because their images are too similar for comfort. The precise mechanics and full independent limits of Techetadore's original image are not established. (Chapters 1514–1519, 1606, and 1642–1643)

Host-enhanced speed and erasure attacks

While occupied, Techetadore can outpace Raymund, sever a throat with a casual hand movement, collapse a chest with one palm, and release attacks that ordinary sight, hearing, touch, and combat instinct cannot detect. These blasts erase Nether from Randidly's body rather than merely damaging flesh; only a future-sight warning lets him evade. They are powerful but not securely Techetadore's own: Raymund sees stolen spectral tails attached to him, breaking one causes a loss of control, and similar erasure attacks continue from the Swacc position after Techetadore is being withdrawn. Fiero's later possession confirms that an external grasp supplied the disproportionate power. (Chapters 1606 and 1641–1645)

Fiero's fists and the body's limits

In the citadel, Fiero speaks through Techetadore and uses the founder's fist framework, including the First Fist, Dominance. The projected strike can overpower Randidly's spear image, but even its first serious use makes Techetadore bleed, and continued exertion threatens to destroy the host. This mismatch is the central limitation of the arrangement: Fiero contributes technique, image weight, and authority, while Techetadore's body bears consequences it was never prepared to withstand. Randidly exploits that restriction, and Raymund's borrowing gift targets the connection rather than accepting the host as the enemy. (Chapters 2233–2239)

Resistance and latest condition

Techetadore cannot initially expel Fiero on his own, but he remains conscious enough beneath the occupation to respond when Randidly and Raymund weaken the intruder. His voluntary movement creates the final separation, demonstrating preserved identity and a limited but decisive capacity to resist. The rescue leaves broken bones and accumulated damage, after which the Alpha Cosmos provides sanctuary for recuperation. His later mastery, restored image strength, and ability to fight independently remain unknown. (Chapters 2234 and 2238–2241; Chapter 2258)

• Raymund Ballast: Elder brother, former training partner, and principal rescuer. Raymund's jealousy becomes guilt and then determined support; he ultimately uses Fiero's Audacity to separate Techetadore from the stronger will occupying him. (Chapters 1514–1519, 1606–1645, and 2232–2241)
