Straud

Straud is a Nemesai-aligned killer whose promise to restore the pre-System world lures Decklan into a destructive ritual. (Chapters 1027, 1281, and 1410)

Biography

A false restoration consumes its followers

Straud first becomes known through victims drained of blood, leaving only his name behind. He later approaches Decklan with the promise of undoing the System’s arrival, exploiting grief and alienation to secure cooperation. The ritual continues through the Winged Serpent even while Randidly hunts Straud, showing that the design can outlast its architect’s direct control. Straud bleeds out during the confrontation, but traces of his image later mingle chaotically within Ace, prolonging the damage of his method after death. (Chapters 1027, 1281–1282, and 1410)

Appearance and personality

Straud’s exact physical features are not repeatedly fixed. His presence is associated with bloodless corpses, predatory secrecy, and an image capable of leaving warped traces in another person. (Chapters 1027 and 1410)

Abilities and progression

Straud drains blood and constructs or supplies a large ritual meant to alter reality and restore the pre-System world. His image can leave residual influence inside Ace. The ritual requires other participants and maintenance, while its mixed remnants weaken one another, showing that Straud’s power is invasive but neither self-sustaining nor perfectly coherent. (Chapters 1027, 1281–1282, and 1410)

Relationships

Decklan becomes his principal recruit and victim. Randidly hunts him, the Winged Serpent maintains his ritual, and Ace later carries traces of Straud’s image among several conflicting powers. (Chapters 1281–1282 and 1410)

Items
