Biography

Protecting workers inside Erickson Steel

Sonya enters as a tall, grey-haired woman surrounded by female assistants whom she shelters from harassment in a male-dominated factory. Her authority grows from protection as much as production. When Randidly later asks for reports on new steelworkers entering the underground furnaces, Sonya and Gregory provide the practical account, showing that the factory's success depends on leaders who can defend people while teaching them demanding work. (Chapters 515, 598, 603)
