Acri

Acri is Randidly Ghosthound's sentient Soulseed spear and longest-serving weapon companion. Acri feeds on combat experience, expresses preferences and affection, acts independently, and repeatedly reshapes itself around new wielders and new forms of battle. Its physical classification as equipment never makes it property: Randidly treats Acri as a bonded partner whose choices and growth are distinct from his own. (Chapters 487–510, 823, 846–848, 1965–1966, 2053, and 2324)

Biography

Awakening as a living spear

Randidly awakens Acri when he reactivates Soul Seed and creates living equipment that can survive the prolonged conflicts destroying his conventional gear. The new companion crawls happily toward him in a stick-bug body and can straighten itself into a spear. Acri inherits spear and combat Skills from its creation, but immediately displays desires beyond function: it hungers for experience, seeks Randidly's attention, and competes with the armor-being Sulfur. (Chapters 487–510)

That appetite solves one of Randidly's strategic problems by consuming most of the experience from kills and slowing his unwanted Level growth. It also gives Acri a personal stake in every hunt. Randidly leaves the companion to defend allies, brings it into Wight battles, and channels the Kata of the Ashen Spear through its body. Acri's increasing sharpness raises the effective quality of his weapon attacks, while its eager chimes and independent movements make clear that the partnership is cooperation rather than animation of an inert tool. (Chapters 510–633 and 714–725)

Captivity, reunion, and Shal's Ascension

During Randidly's return to Tellus, enemies separate him from Acri and Sulfur. The bond lets him sense that Acri is angry rather than frightened, but the living spear remains physically capturable and can be restrained despite its durability. When Randidly reaches Versault's chamber and cuts the bindings, Acri wraps around his arm in a familiar embrace. The reunion restores more than equipment; it gives Randidly back a companion whose absence had narrowed his combat choices. (Chapters 768–823)

Randidly later offers Acri to Shal during the decisive struggle for Tellus. Acri does not passively accept a new grip: it slithers over Shal, evaluates him, lengthens itself to suit his body, and seeks approval. Its flexible, self-directed attacks let Shal circumvent the Spearman's defenses, while the gift reminds him that he is not fighting alone and reconnects his image to the childhood dream of a snake-spear hero. Shal returns Acri after winning his Ascension and explicitly credits the gift with making victory possible. (Chapters 846–848)

A companion through Earth's widening conflicts

Back on Earth, Acri learns a compact belt form and continues adapting its size to Randidly's needs, enlarging against massive opponents and acting independently when grappling makes an ordinary grip impossible. Its hunger sometimes creates conflict: after time away from spear fighting, Acri kills monsters Randidly intends to use for his own Levels. Randidly explains the danger of prioritizing either partner's growth absolutely, and Acri relents because both remember their helplessness against Aegiant. (Chapters 865, 888–889, 1272, and 1404)

The exchange defines their mature bond. Acri is neither obedient machinery nor an unrestricted predator; it can disagree, be hurt, and revise its behavior. Across Kharon's campaigns and the Nexus climb, Randidly relies on its variable reach, immense resilience, and ability to channel natural energy, images, and Nether. Acri in turn gains harder material, sharper edges, greater initiative, and combat experience from opponents far beyond Earth's original scale. (Chapters 923–1505, 1670, and 1751)

Envy, the threefold body, and Alpha Keyspear

Randidly's separated Envy briefly seizes the closer bond to Acri and pulls the companion into an inner emotional space. Acri's disappearance exposes how thoroughly Randidly relies on the relationship: he abandons other work and confronts the emotion immediately. After Randidly accepts envy as part of himself, Acri returns, coos reassurance that it did not betray him, and consoles him through the aftermath. The episode affirms Acri's loyalty without denying that forces acting through their bond can separate them. (Chapters 1965–1966)

Acri later chooses to evolve after watching Sulfur transform. It spends its accumulated experience, strengthens its consciousness and predictive ability, and divides into three mentally tethered bodies: a compact harpoon-spear, an enormous blade, and a thorny living core that can weave itself into a powerful tail. This form gives Randidly both precision and monstrous reach, most decisively when Acri's tail severs Elhume's arm before his fist can land. (Chapters 2053, 2059, and 2147)

At the edge of the multiverse, Randidly fuses the Alchemist's Passport with Acri. The resulting Acri, Alpha Keyspear retains a long spear shape while developing brass key teeth and the mature portal-and-lock nature of the first Fatepiece. Randidly turns Acri within his own chest to lock away the newly balanced universe from hostile external entities. Acri therefore ends not as a discarded weapon but as the active companion at the center of Randidly's final defensive transformation. (Chapter 2324)

Appearance and personality

Acri's original resting body resembles a stick bug with long wooden limbs and two antennae. When the body straightens, the antennae connect and spray a sticky substance that rapidly hardens into an exceptionally sharp spearhead. Later descriptions emphasize a living composite of extremely strong wood and metal, a half-plant and half-spear body capable of slithering around Randidly's arm or waist, coiling like a snake, and resting as an unremarkable belt. (Chapters 510, 768, 823, and 865)

After the threefold evolution, the principal hand-held form is a dense, short harpoon-spear with a flexible shaft and an unnaturally golden edge. Its second body is a massive engraved spearhead, while the third is a fleshy, thorn-vined core able to braid itself into a tail that wields the larger blade. Alpha Keyspear remains elongated and gains two brass teeth near the blade, visually joining spear and key. (Chapters 2053, 2147, and 2324)

Acri is affectionate, gluttonous, competitive, eager for combat, and increasingly perceptive. It crawls happily to Randidly, embraces him after captivity, trills at Thorn's teasing, rivals Sulfur for growth, and argues when denied experience. Its appetite can be selfish, but it also understands shared danger, adjusts itself for Shal without coercion, reassures Randidly after Envy, and anticipates complex intentions as its consciousness develops. (Chapters 510, 823, 846, 888–889, 1966, and 2053)

Abilities and progression

Acri begins as a Soulseed formed from Randidly's spear-related Skills and develops through consumed experience, combat pressure, self-directed adaptation, and eventual fusion with a Fatepiece. Its powers operate through a living body and conscious cooperation; size, shape, and behavior change with the situation rather than following a fixed progression of ordinary equipment rarities.

Soulseed construction and experience metabolism

Acri is formed with Spear Mastery, Phantom's Embrace, Sharpness, Combat Proficiency, and Cruel Indignation of Yggdrasil. These ingredients give it a natural compatibility with Randidly's spear techniques, stealthy reach, cutting power, and hostile image pressure. It consumes most experience generated by Randidly's kills, using that energy for its own growth while helping him delay Levels he does not want to take. (Chapters 510 and 524)

The appetite has practical limits. Acri can take experience without being the direct killing blow, but an exceptionally rich kill can exceed the amount it can process and force the remainder back to Randidly. Its hunger also motivates independent hunting and occasional disobedience. Because growth depends heavily on combat experience, long periods when Randidly sets spearwork aside frustrate Acri and can place their immediate goals in conflict. (Chapters 888–889 and 1410)

Living transformation and autonomous combat

Acri can move as a stick-bug or serpent-like plant, harden its own spearhead, wrap around a body as a belt, change length, enlarge for giant targets, and strike after leaving Randidly's grip. The flexible shaft bends around conventional blocks, as demonstrated when Shal uses it to bite past the Spearman's guard, then straightens for forceful thrusts. Its agency also lets it attack Kaan's legs while Randidly is occupied in a grapple. (Chapters 510, 846–848, 865, 1272, and 1404)

The living body is extraordinarily hard and sharp: ordinary weapons break against it, it cuts armor and high-Level bodies, and enemies who capture it cannot simply destroy it as kindling. It is not invulnerable. Aegiant's overwhelming spear clash causes Acri pain and a visible fracture, hostile custodians can bind it, and separation from Randidly prevents their usual coordinated techniques even though the Soulseed bond persists at a distance. (Chapters 768, 823, 838, 888–889, and 1492)

Channel for spearwork, images, and Nether

Acri supplies the stable physical line through which Randidly concentrates spear Skills, image force, natural energy, and Nether patterns. Its variable size supports pressure against massive enemies, while its tip supplies the final cutting focus for attacks whose momentum comes from Randidly's body and images. In late clashes, tiny reverberations through the shaft can be shaped into Nether Rituals, and the peerless edge allows Randidly to exploit openings rather than merely batter defenses. (Chapters 1272, 1670, 2059, and 2188)

This interaction depends on the user. Acri magnifies a prepared thrust but does not create Randidly's images, Stats, or technique, and a superior opponent can still deflect or reflect the entire attack. Conversely, Acri's ability to predict movement and act on intent reduces the need for explicit commands. Its partnership with Shal proves that the weapon can support another compatible spear master, though its deepest coordination remains with Randidly. (Chapters 846–848, 2053, 2167, and 2324)

Three mentally tethered portions

The later evolution greatly strengthens Acri's consciousness, hardens its blades beyond the System's ability to assign a rarity, and divides one body into three mentally tethered portions. The compact harpoon-spear serves ordinary forms; the huge blade supplies mass and a nearly irresistible edge; the thorny core creates articulated vines that can retrieve the blade or braid into a scorpion-like tail. The separated bodies remain one coordinated consciousness. (Chapters 2053 and 2147)

The form trades simplicity for range and specialization. Randidly can keep the compact piece at his waist while the other portions remain in the Alpha Cosmos, then manifest all three for a decisive monstrous attack. The preparation requires space, bodily integration, and coordination with his image physicalizations, but the result can sever Elhume's manifested arm cleanly rather than contest the force of his punch head-on. (Chapter 2147)

Alpha Keyspear

Fusion with the Alchemist's Passport adds the Fatepiece's key, path, and locking nature to Acri's existing spear body. The brass teeth can engage a metaphysical lock, while the shaft still functions as a weapon and anchor for Randidly's power. Its representative use is defensive rather than a simple portal: Randidly lets the transformed Acri enter his projected chest, grips it, and turns the key to seal the new universe behind an Eternity barrier. (Chapter 2324)

Relationships

  • Randidly Ghosthound: Bonded wielder, creator, and partner. Their coordination grows from commands into mutual anticipation, while moments of disagreement and separation establish Acri as an individual rather than Randidly's possession.
  • Sulfur: Fellow Soulseed companion and long-running rival for growth and attention. Their competition coexists with shared loyalty and parallel transformations alongside Randidly.
  • Shal: Temporary wielder whom Acri evaluates and accepts during the Ascension duel, altering its length and tactics to support him before returning to Randidly.
  • Versault: Hostile custodian who participates in separating and restraining Acri until Randidly cuts the living spear free.

Items

Acri's dual nature is also represented by the Acri item article, which records the companion's physical forms, transformations, and changes of custody. The item classification describes a body that can be worn and wielded; it does not make Acri an object owned by Randidly. The Alchemist's Passport becomes part of Acri at the final fusion rather than remaining a separately carried possession. (Chapter 2324)
