Karmic Bead

The Karmic Bead is a black bead commissioned by the Innkeeper as the foundation for manipulating, tracing, and preserving karmic connections. (Chapters 1539–1540)

History

Forging a contingency

Lex commissions Orin to forge the bead and offers Amber Chaos Resin as its foundation, turning the project into the dwarf's overriding craft mission. Once complete, it supports Lex's study of karma, travel along karmic strings, and a Karmic Clone left at the Inn. That clone becomes a genuine contingency during Lex's absence rather than a decorative duplicate. (Chapters 1539–1540, 1748–1749, and 2210–2241)

Abilities and properties

• Its construction begins with Amber Chaos Resin and requires a forge prepared for an artifact beyond ordinary divine craftsmanship. (Chapters 1540 and 1749)
• Lex uses it to sense and traverse karmic ties, including connections that have been deliberately obscured. (Chapters 2006–2007 and 2241)
• It anchors and can strengthen a Karmic Clone acting at the Inn. (Chapters 2210 and 2223)
