Sunny is a young Sol bird raised at the Midnight Inn whose malnourished bloodline develops through the Sovereign turtle's care, field experience, and the arrival of a Sun Crow. (Chapters 1324, 1564–1671, 2132)

Biography

Nourishment, play, and battlefield growth

Sunny begins as a weak descendant of a Phoenix whose malnutrition prevents its bloodline from awakening; Lex Williams consequently asks the Sovereign turtle to give the bird focused nourishment while Sunny works in the western gardens. Its first outing turns play with Fenrir and Little Blue into real service in Abaddon, where it helps burn attacking insects and later joins the Inn's aerial forces. Sunny's inexperience can make it defer or slack when stronger allies dominate, but it remains with the group through sustained fighting and shares their trust in Lex. The Sun Crow's later appearance finally enhances and purifies Sunny's Sol-bird bloodline, providing the breakthrough nutrition alone could not complete. (Chapters 1324, 1564–1611, 1652–1746, 2132)

Appearance and personality

Sunny is a small bird whose exact plumage and size are not specified. It is youthful, playful, and initially socially awkward, often following Little Blue and Fenrir. Sunny's Sol-bird lineage manifests as fire. Early flames are weak enough to burn weeds but not the divine barbs of a Ruse Bush Deity. Little Blue's superiority limits Sunny's contribution in one battle, demonstrating that its fire is not dominant against every force.
