Pearl is the surviving heir of the Sunborne family and River's partner. Hunted for her inheritance, she rebuilds a quiet life through an isolated guest house before battlefield service, cultivation, and Cliff's guidance force her to reconsider survival as her only goal. Biography

Flight and a borrowed home

Pearl and River escape their pursuers through a dangerous seasonal storm, with Pearl tending River's bleeding feet beneath a tree while her necklace supplies their only light. Under Cliff's guidance they open a remote guest house, making mistakes but using Pearl's charm and River's quick thinking to keep customers satisfied. Meditation helps her grow and resist an existing curse, while the routine gives both fugitives a first experience of safety that is more than simply hiding. (Chapters 2249–2263)

Heir, soldier, and uncertain future

Pearl's identity as the last Sunborne heir exposes the couple to renewed danger, but under direct threat she recovers the calm and training of her noble upbringing. She chooses quest rewards that advance her cultivation, reaches peak Qi Training, and later grows to Mid Foundation through three years of battlefield work. Their effective partnership earns recognition and therefore harder missions. After those responsible for her family's destruction are publicly executed, revenge leaves her empty rather than restored; Cliff's questions about what she wants begin a still-unresolved effort to imagine a future beyond the Alliance's control. Appearance and personality

Pearl is presented as a young woman whose warm necklace light accompanies her earliest flight. She is caring, charming with guests, cautious, and accustomed to institutional obedience. Trauma initially suppresses her noble composure, but crisis brings it back; gratitude toward Cliff and concern for River coexist with a limited sense of personal ambition that she only begins to question later. Abilities and cultivation

Foundation cultivation and curse resistance

Pearl cultivates through daily meditation while actively resisting a curse. Cliff's quest reward raises her from Qi Training to its peak with purified energy, after which hard battlefield experience and completed quests bring her to Mid Foundation. Her advancement is solid but not exceptional by Inn standards, and she requires time, resources, and instruction rather than possessing an effortless shortcut. (Chapters 2253–2263, 2280, 2285, 2321)

Formations and practical partnership

Pearl develops formation skill sufficient to identify the true cultivation of apparently ordinary travelers, detecting one Earth Immortal and twelve peak Nascent Soul cultivators before they reveal themselves. Her effectiveness is strongest in partnership with River: Pearl handles planning, hospitality, cultivation support, and detection while River's oath-bound path supplies complementary protection.
