Haraash

Haraash Soshi is a practitioner of divination asceticism whom Vera seeks out to teach Lex how to sever exposure to karma, destiny, and supernatural scrutiny. Though his school discourages divination, he preserves its knowledge and trades a one-time transmission for resources he expects will take millennia to acquire. (Chapters 1055–1066)

Biography

A costly lesson in escaping fate

Haraash grants Vera an audience because she finds him despite his hidden location, then offers Lex a choice between general judgment and the specific path she requested. Lex trusts Vera and pays the extraordinary price within minutes, startling a teacher who expected to lecture him about perseverance. Haraash honors the bargain by transferring extensive knowledge, while warning that he will help only once. (Chapters 1055–1061)

The instruction provides Lex with principles for concealing himself from fate rather than an effortless permanent shield. Haraash's transaction also advances his personal dream: he values rare materials but lives at the Inn as a spiritual retreat, studying calligraphy and painting in the hope of capturing a world's essence in one brushstroke. Appearance and personality

Haraash is a very thin, dark-blue humanoid with no nose and one enormous eye covering most of his face. He speaks mildly and calmly, appreciates decisive trust, and combines strict commercial boundaries with genuine courtesy. His amusement when Lex instantly produces impossible payment reveals flexibility beneath an ascetic manner, while his artistic ambitions keep him engaged with the world he claims to avoid influencing. Abilities and cultivation

Haraash practices divination asceticism, cutting his own ties to destiny and discouraging casual fortune-telling while retaining the ability to read and manipulate such connections when necessary. He immediately notices that Lex's destiny is hidden and can transmit a vast body of protective knowledge directly into a mind.
