Hailey

Hailey is a peak-Foundation farmer from X-142 who enters the Lady Cosmos pageant hoping to escape a life she no longer finds fulfilling. The event brings her together with Harry; she later remains beside him through the destruction and restoration of his soul, becoming his wife and the mother of their child.

Biography

From the fields to Lady Cosmos

Hailey has spent her life preparing to farm a valuable crop, only to discover that sixteen-hour days in mud offer none of the purpose she imagined. The Lady Cosmos summons give her a possible exit, but once at the Inn she fears public humiliation and considers withdrawing. Harry's makeover and patient attention help her see that a simple farm background does not make her unworthy. She commits to the pageant, reaches its leading ranks, and gains both confidence and a relationship that changes the future she had wanted to escape. (Chapters 288–293 and 344–409)

Choosing Harry and the Inn

When Harry's body is rebuilt but most of his soul remains crushed, Hailey stays beside his recovery pod rather than treating the pageant romance as temporary. The Inn eventually restores him, and their partnership develops into marriage and parenthood. During the Midnight realm transition they stand together above the barbershop, considering the life they have built and what comes next; later workers view their family as proof that lasting relationships with outsiders can succeed. Appearance and personality

Hailey is a beautiful young human woman whose later appearance includes wings, although the source and permanence of those wings are not explained. Farm labor initially leaves her exhausted and unsure of herself, but she is educated, practical, and capable of identifying the difference between humility and self-erasure. Hailey is at peak Foundation realm when introduced.
