Aera

Aera is Windonia's planetary goddess, mother of Telia and Carliodas, and the divine sponsor who asks Kai LuForia to stop the Brotherhood of Chaos. Her inability to defeat her empowered son or enter the outer-god time prison defines the limits of her otherwise broad planetary authority.

Biography

The Brotherhood crisis and a divided divine family

Aera summons Kai and Telia to her divine realm before Telia can forcibly claim the disguised newcomer as a servant. She identifies Kai as the Progenitor's son, then explains that Carliodas leads an extremist movement against Windonia's female-dominated order. Although she and Telia acknowledge real abuses against men, they oppose his terrorism and cannot remove him after Progenitor Decay elevates his strength. Aera asks Kai to intervene because her son has become a danger that the continent's established rulers can no longer contain. (Chapters 493–495)

Carliodas later returns as a demigod and invades Aera's realm. She fights him with divine wind, partly injuring him but absorbing Primordial Decay whenever his attacks connect. Telia joins her, and their combined assault destroys only a decoy before Kai arrives and kills the real body. With Aera's divinity fading, Kai removes the corruption and heals her; she then purges the remaining demonic energy and restores her realm. Her survival preserves Windonia's goddess, but it depends directly on the outsider she recruited. (Chapters 511–513)

Aera's role in Thalia's later rescue is mostly indirect. A thousand years earlier, she helps oppose the divine invaders, later blesses the hero's descendants, supports the Temple of Time, and sends Kai toward the prison. She cannot enter it herself because access requires an outer god, so priests and descendants act on her instructions until Kai frees those trapped inside. (Chapters 514, 518, and 523–528)

Appearance and personality

Aera is a beautiful woman with blonde hair worn in a braid. No eye color, height, build, or standard divine clothing is specified. The spelling “Area” in later chapters refers to the same goddess and is treated as a typographical variant. (Chapters 493–494 and 512)

She is protective, candid, and uneasy about threats to the social order she oversees. Aera defends her daughter, mourns her son's choices, and continues fighting him despite the Decay consuming her. (Chapters 494 and 512–513)

Powers and abilities

Aera governs a private divine realm, can summon and dismiss visitors, communicate across Windonia, and use powerful divine wind as walls, cutting gales, compressed columns, spears, and propulsion. Within her realm, the world itself responds to her ultimate attack. Her planetary nature prevents entry into the outer-god time prison, and Primordial Decay directly erodes her divinity and defeats ordinary healing until Kai absorbs it. She also blesses a mortal bloodline and helps establish temporal defenses, though the exact division between her power and Telia's is not given. (Chapters 493–495, 512–513, and 518–523)
