Villa Stone

The Villa Stone is Karl's portable Immortal-rank shelter, creating either a hidden separate resting space or a visible defended property from a compact stone anchor.

History

Karl simplifies a living villa into a portable shelter

Karl first creates an [Illusionary Villa] as an Immortal-rank, Totem-grade item, then produces a simplified Villa Stone based on [Illusionary Domain] and [Reality Warp]. He deliberately omits [World Crafting] and [All Things Are Pets], separating a defensible resting environment from the more complex ability to create living world features. The result is reproducible: he makes several copies and deposits them in the clan warehouse. (Chapters 1560–1561)

The warehouse values a standard copy at one hundred Clan Credits. Karl also trades or gives stones directly, including one to a ship's First Mate and another as compensation after a disruptive incident. Demand grows because the item offers privacy, resources, and a separate defended space without requiring the user to build a permanent compound. (Chapters 1561, 1573–1574, 1599, and 1646)

Portable custody turns the villa into logistics infrastructure

Karl adapts the stones to different holders and uses. One is attached to a collar Rae makes, another houses a Night Witch's Elf between assignments, and several are distributed before battle. Rae pulls golems into a stone for transport, while Clan Leader Nerissa uses another to hold cash and plants. These scenes establish that a Villa can function as shelter and temporary storage, but they do not make every person or being placed inside an owned possession of the stone's custodian. (Chapters 1625, 1667, 1695–1696, and 1701)

The same spatial privacy supports staff facilities and emergency protection. A Villa Stone can upgrade a break room, shelter a rescued creature during a boss fight, or provide a safe private property within another location. Its usefulness depends on the barrier and domain remaining intact; it is not presented as an unrestricted substitute for every larger world-space skill. (Chapters 1680, 1709–1710, and 1726)

Rue copies the design at Supreme rank

Karl gives Rue a Villa Stone to study after she joins the Darklight Host. She makes a direct copy with a Supreme-ranked barrier, raising the item's rank only through stronger exclusion rather than improving the interior features. The marked copy is then useful as political signaling: observers may infer that a Supreme supports the Darklight Host. The design's latest advancement is therefore defensive and reputational, not a newly demonstrated expansion of the villa itself. (Chapters 1819–1820)

Abilities and properties

  • Creates a hidden resting space inside a durable defensive barrier, or can manifest as a visible property instead of a separate space. (Chapters 1560–1561)
  • Standard copies are Immortal rank and Totem grade, built primarily from [Illusionary Domain] and [Reality Warp]. They omit Karl's living-world techniques. (Chapters 1560–1561)
  • Can hold occupants, golems, supplies, plants, or furnishings and be carried as a stone anchor. This demonstrated storage does not establish limitless capacity or universal compatibility. (Chapters 1625–1627, 1695–1701, and 1726)
  • A standard warehouse appraisal values one at one hundred Clan Credits, reflecting scarcity and utility rather than a fixed universal market price. (Chapter 1561)
  • Rue's Supreme copy strengthens the barrier without otherwise improving the villa, showing that item rank can rise through one component while core amenities remain unchanged. (Chapters 1819–1820)
