Jim

Jim is one of the two Ninja-class “twins” who accompany the Berserker Mark on an Immortal-world expedition. He and Nate call Mark their brother in a social rather than clearly biological sense, providing stealth and caution to balance the larger man's direct fighting style.

Biography

A stealth specialist tests an unfamiliar alliance

Jim joins Mark and Nate when their harvesting group encounters Karl's unusually large party. The strangers' summons and separate spaces promise safety and efficient gathering, but they also disrupt familiar resource customs, so Jim watches before committing: he questions Remi's habit of transplanting immature resources, then accepts Karl's explanation that keeping them alive benefits the clan. When the group later enters a disorienting cave, Jim personally tests the route and reports that the spell loops him back to the entrance. His reconnaissance converts suspicion into useful warning and helps the mixed party adapt without losing someone to the trap. (Chapters 1631–1637)

After the expedition, Jim remains the skeptical brother while Mark is drawn into the Tiny World's social chaos. He tries to question whether Mark should follow Ophelia's matchmaking plan, then accepts that events have moved beyond his control. More substantively, he presses Karl for an explanation of surviving a Demonic Prison realm and suggests importing a tutor because people raised in Mortal Worlds struggle to comprehend Fundamental Rules. Jim leaves with Mark and Nate after one day, so his latest state is that of an active visiting Immortal whose practical advice outlasts his brief stay. (Chapters 1647–1657)

Appearance and personality

Jim and Nate are described as twins by class and role, both less than half Mark's size and not visibly similar to him. No reliable hair, eye, species, or clothing detail distinguishes Jim from Nate. (Chapters 1631 and 1633)

He is cautious, observant, and willing to revise an opinion when given a mechanical explanation. His dry concern about Remi's harvesting, his test of the cave's disorientation, and his disbelief at Mark's romantic detour all show a habit of checking risks before accepting the group's enthusiasm. (Chapters 1633–1648)

Abilities and class

Jim has the Ninja class and specializes in stealth. He can remain concealed while the visible members make a party look smaller, supporting ambushes and reconnaissance. The corpus does not name his concealment skill, define what senses can pierce it, or show a direct attack, so his damage and defensive limits remain unknown. (Chapters 1631–1635)

His cave test demonstrates practical scouting rather than immunity to hostile magic: a disorientation effect turns him around and returns him to the exit. Jim recognizes and reports the loop, but does not dispel or resist it. No later class upgrade, rank progression, or named Ninja technique is shown before he departs. (Chapters 1637 and 1657)

Relationships

  • Mark: Jim treats Mark as a brother and tempers the Berserker's directness with skepticism and stealth support. (Chapters 1631–1648)
  • Nate: Nate is Jim's fellow Ninja-class twin and closest tactical counterpart; the two hide together and jointly manage Mark's impulsive social choices. (Chapters 1631–1648)
  • Karl: Jim joins Karl's expedition, tests hazards for the combined group, and later questions him closely about the Demonic Prison and Mortal-world advancement. (Chapters 1631–1648)

Items

Jim has no scoped catalog item. The corpus does not name his weapons, Ninja tools, armor, or any harvested resource he personally retains.
