Daitengu
Daitengu is one of Oe Mountain's three foremost great youkai, balancing the influence of Shuten-doji alongside Tsuchigumo. After a millennium of confinement, he joins Theodore Miller's campaign in exchange for the promise of a new homeland for the youkai.
Biography
Prometheus and the Eastern Apocalypse
Daitengu interrupts Shuten-doji's attempt to speak for every youkai and establishes that Oe Mountain has no single ruler. Freedom, rather than loyalty to one faction, shapes his choice: Theodore offers the surviving youkai settlement in a southern swamp, and Daitengu accepts the alliance against the eastern catastrophe. He later takes a flexible middle position in the coalition's formation and combines his wind with Titania Herseim's attack against the heavenly demon. The counterattack tears away the right half of his wings. The narration says that he avoids immediate death but will die soon; the supplied corpus does not show a recovery or a confirmed death scene. (Chapters 362, 364, 370, and 372–374)
Appearance and personality
Daitengu appears as an enormous crow and speaks with a profound voice. He is proud but politically clear-eyed, refusing to let Shuten-doji equate personal strength with authority over all youkai. His acceptance of Tsuchigumo's death also reflects the youkai's less human understanding of life and death. (Chapters 362–364 and 372)
Magic, abilities, and martial skills
Daitengu is a powerful flying combatant whose wings and wind can influence a large battlefield. His versatile placement in the Nine Palace Troops lets him answer threats across the formation, and his combined wind attack with Titania is strong enough to wound the heavenly demon's legs. Losing half his wings leaves him mortally injured. (Chapters 370 and 372–374)

- Titania Herseim: Daitengu coordinates his wind with Titania during the battle against the heavenly demon. (Chapters 372–374)
