Dimensional Bracelet

The Dimensional Bracelet is Gustav's recurring checkpoint-based teleportation device. Its limited charge, activation delay, and susceptibility to exceptional dimensional interference repeatedly determine whether he can travel or escape.

History

Checkpoint travel and field use

Gustav acquires a Level 7 bracelet shortly before it first appears on his wrist. The device stores places from which he has teleported as checkpoints, allowing him to return to them later. Its display initially shows five energy bars, and Gustav learns to budget them because greater distance and additional passengers consume more power. At Burning Sands he uses a previously marked underground location as a refuge and observes that two short jumps consume only half a bar, while a long jump to a distant checkpoint could exhaust the available charge. The bracelet becomes a standard part of Gustav's mission planning, but it is not an unconditional escape. Teleportation requires an activation interval, a limitation that matters when Angy attacks faster than the device can respond. A strong paired dimensional and anti-dimensional field later blocks travel even though the Level 7 model had resisted earlier disruptors; the bracelet can still mark the obstructed location as a checkpoint. Destruction and replacement

The original bracelet is destroyed by the heat wave surrounding Miss Aimee's dimensional refuge. Because only five Level 7 examples had reportedly been manufactured and their materials are exceptionally rare, Gustav cannot simply draw another from an MBO vault. He calls in a favor owed by Grand Commander Shion, and a newly manufactured Level 7 replacement is eventually fitted to his wrist. The second bracelet includes an unspecified upgrade, but the corpus does not define that improvement in enough detail to assign it a new function. (Chapters 1054, 1120)

Abilities and properties

• Records teleportation departure points as reusable checkpoints and can carry Gustav, objects, or additional people between them. (Chapters 761, 766)
• Uses a finite bar-based energy reserve. Long-distance or multi-person travel consumes more charge, and recharging can take long enough to restrict repeated use. (Chapter 761)
• Level 7 construction resists ordinary dimensional disruption, but sufficiently strong simultaneous dimensional and anti-dimensional fields can prevent teleportation. A checkpoint may still be recorded inside such interference. (Chapter 975)
• Activation is not instantaneous, leaving Gustav vulnerable when an attack resolves before the countdown. (Chapter 1500)
• The first bracelet could not survive the extreme heat wave that destroyed it; the replacement is confirmed as Level 7 and upgraded, though the upgrade's exact specification is unstated. (Chapters 1054, 1120)
