Karis is a Zaltharian outlaw who steals and activates the Rion mineral in an attempt to destroy the criminal system she blames for her child's death.

Biography

Escape with the Rion

Karis engineers her own transport and escape to gain access to Rion, a mineral that absorbs and magnifies energy. She hijacks the vessel with inside help and carries the mineral toward the Nereus Sector, where child trafficking and outlaw rule coexist with innocent victims. Officer Eyhrum's warning draws Gustav Oslov's group into the pursuit. (Chapters 1456–1457)

Salvation through destruction

Karis binds the Rion to herself and intends its charge to erase Nereus, believing the sector's death will prevent future suffering like the neglect that killed her unborn child. Thalos extracts the mineral's location from her memories, while Gustav forces her to confront the innocents her plan would kill. She initially refuses deactivation and remains defiant in custody as the group seeks a safer resolution. (Chapters 1465–1576)

Appearance and personality

Karis is a striking Zaltharian woman with angular features, large teal eyes, and a piercing, challenging gaze. She is cunning, ruthless, grief-driven, and strategically patient. Her stated wish to save future victims is real, but trauma has led her to equate mass death with salvation. (Chapters 1457–1494)

Bloodlines and abilities

Karis is a skilled planner able to manipulate secure transport systems and outlaw networks. Her personal bloodline is not clearly named; the planetary-scale threat comes from Rion's energy amplification and binding sentience, not safely attributable innate power. Only its bonded activator can deactivate it without catastrophe. (Chapters 1456–1576)
