Ildan is a recently graduated MBO officer whose water-body bloodline makes him both an infiltrator and an unusually disturbing close-quarters combatant.
Biography
A young officer in a lethal mission
Ildan joins Gustav Oslov as a full officer despite having graduated recently and being only on his fourth mission. His youthful appearance initially understates his experience and B-grade bloodline, but his transformation into a mobile pool of water gives the team a member able to slip through spaces and attack without retaining an ordinary human shape. (Chapters 590–591)
Weaponizing water and choosing the unit
Against Red Jackets, Ildan floods the area and forces water through enemies' noses and mouths until it reaches their organs and ruptures them from within; disgusted by the result, he says he does not want to repeat the method. Later he infiltrates Vulcan forces with Fiona, destroys bots in liquid form, and argues for loyalty to Gustav's unit through the mission's end. (Chapters 607–654)
Appearance and personality
Ildan has a slim build and a masculine teenage-looking face with a little chin hair, although he is older than he appears and the same age as Mill. He is capable and loyal but not callous: the effectiveness of his most invasive attack visibly repulses him. (Chapters 590–607)
Bloodlines and abilities
Ildan has a B-grade bloodline that lets him turn into a pool or mobile mass of water. The form supports infiltration, flooding, bot destruction, and entry into an opponent's respiratory system; his reluctance to repeat the internal-rupture technique is a personal limitation even when the bloodline permits it. (Chapters 591–629)
