Handler One is the senior numbered Handler responsible for major IYSOP announcements, oversight, and emergency action on Planet Ozious.

Biography

Tournament oversight

Handler One monitors anomalous events from the opening challenge, sending Handler Thirteen to investigate when Gustav Oslov's relic takes too long to form. He later briefs the representatives on the Viondur Egg Challenge and coordinates the tournament's rules and infrastructure. These duties place him above the other numbered handlers in operational authority, but also make him responsible when the competition's host world becomes the center of a catastrophe. Last defense of Ozious

As darkness consumes Ozious, Handler One opens escape portals and pleads with departing delegations to carry Ozis civilians. When the Draconets refuse, he divides the remaining handlers' work and intercepts a Death Angel so the others can continue evacuating. He absorbs and converts its energy, cuts it apart repeatedly, and holds it back despite mounting injuries, declaring that he will trade his life for more time. He survives that immediate duel long enough to see the creature summoned away, but is later counted among the billions lost in the disaster. (Chapter 1330; Chapter 1364)

Appearance and personality

Handler One is an Ozis with insect-like fingers and pointed teeth. He is vigilant, authoritative, and suspicious during the tournament, then openly self-sacrificing during the evacuation. His willingness to beg proud allies for civilian transport shows that saving lives matters more to him than status. (Chapters 1168–1178 and 1330)

Bloodlines and abilities

Handler One can seize energy-based attacks, compress them into dark clouds or thorns, and reshape the captured power into blades and binding threads. He is extremely fast and strong enough to fight a Death Angel alone; Handler Two places his strength near that of the Sacred One. The Death Angel's inability to die turns the encounter into endurance rather than a clean victory, and Handler One accumulates numerous injuries while containing it. (Chapter 1330)
