Captain Ostril leads the Draconet representatives at IYSOP. Her Absolute Cancel technique makes her a dangerous counter to ability-dependent opponents, but Gustav learns to exhaust the power source supporting its largest use.

Biography

Draconet captaincy and tournament hostility

Ostril directs the Draconet team through the Viondur and battle challenges, treating Earth's position as a threat to overcome through coordinated force. During the late platform conflict, her group spends an extended period trying to eliminate Elevora and Sheila, relying on numbers and Ostril's cancellation power to suppress their resistance. The effort becomes personal when Gustav Oslov and Angy extract the two Earth representatives before Ostril can finish them. (Chapters 1189–1202 and 1278–1304)

Absolute Cancel fails

Ostril pursues the escaping Earth team and orders the Draconets after them, but Gustav has already drained half the power from the orb supporting the battlefield effect. Her large-scale Absolute Cancel consequently fails even though earlier focused uses worked on Gustav. The reversal lets Gustav disqualify the gathered rival participants and leaves Ostril enraged, alive, and stripped of the decisive advantage she expected. (Chapters 1307 and 1315–1318)

Appearance and personality

Ostril is a female Draconet captain; the retained corpus does not isolate a more detailed individual portrait. She is forceful, proud, and quick to shout orders when a victory slips away. Her frustration is intensified by the embarrassment of spending many fighters against only two Earth representatives and still losing the outcome. (Chapters 1315–1318)

Bloodlines and abilities

Absolute Cancel suppresses or cancels active abilities within Ostril's effective scope. It works against Gustav in a focused encounter, while its broader battlefield use depends on an external orb whose available power can be drained. That dependency is the crucial limitation: when the orb loses half its charge, her large-area cancellation cannot stop Gustav's extraction and counterattack. (Chapters 1303–1304 and 1315–1318)

  • Gustav Oslov: Ostril cancels Gustav's abilities early, but he later sabotages the supporting orb and defeats her plan.
