Ezra Granbehl
Ezra Granbehl is a proud young Granbehl ascender whose rivalry with Grey and protectiveness toward Ada are exploited during a fatal preliminary ascent.
Biography
Recorded appearances
Ezra enters the Relictombs under Kalon Granbehl's supervision seeking qualification and proof of Granbehl strength. He resents the unknown Grey's secrecy and superior capacity, questioning him aggressively even when cooperation would better protect the group. Ezra nevertheless cares about Ada Granbehl, so pride and family protection operate together rather than as simple selfishness. The mirror zone and Mythelias exploit those emotions, breaking formation and judgment as companions die. Ezra is killed during the ascent and later becomes part of the phantoms and trauma confronting Ada, making his failed protection one of the forces that distort the sole survivor's memory. (Chapters 298–300, 302, 304–309)
