Draneeve is the masked Alacryan operative who exploits Lucas Wykes's resentment, coordinates the seizure of Xyrus Academy, and takes a special interest in Elijah.

Biography

Draneeve approaches Lucas as a benefactor, offering the recognition and power the disgraced student believes he deserves. He converts that grievance into an operational asset, coordinates radical human nobles and foreign forces, encloses the academy, takes captives, and supplies the enhancement that makes Lucas both more destructive and less stable. When Arthur's arrival changes the balance, Draneeve withdraws through the escape mechanism with Elijah rather than sacrifice the larger objective for Lucas. Later direct scenes place him in the Alacryan structure around Nico, Cecilia, and Agrona, showing that the academy attack was part of continued service rather than an isolated conspiracy. The corpus demonstrates planning, coercion, and selective fire punishment, but not his complete personal power. (Chapters 84, 94–98, 361, and 452)

Appearance and personality

Draneeve's smiling mask creates a deliberately reassuring surface for recruitment and command. His behavior is controlled, manipulative, and pragmatic: he flatters resentment, imposes punishment, and abandons a compromised battlefield when higher priorities require it. (Chapters 84 and 94–98)
