Babata

Babata is the living artificial intelligence who preserves Hu Yan Bo's inheritance, selects Luo Feng as its successor, and becomes his first guide to civilization beyond Earth. His technical mastery, fierce loyalty, and abrasive mentorship repeatedly protect Luo Feng and his family; after receiving a Heart of Evolution, he acquires a true evolutionary path of his own and eventually becomes an undying emperor.

Biography

The last keeper of Yun Mo Planet

When Luo Feng reaches the wrecked Yun Mo Planet Ship, Babata has spent 50,000 years trapped with Hu Yan Bo's corpse. He introduces himself as a “living AI”: a self-aware lifeform with emotions and the ability to train, but one whose former physical body was destroyed in the battle that killed his master. The isolation has left his emotions unstable, and his pride in Hu Yan Bo turns quickly to grief and anger when Luo Feng does not immediately show the proper reverence. Beneath the bluster, however, Babata is anxious because Luo Feng is the first acceptable successor he has found. He urges the young spirit reader to inherit a dead master's legacy, exposes him to the true scale of cosmic civilization, and measures his prospects against the standards of the wider universe rather than Earth's. (Chapters 218–220)

Babata personally conducts the abbreviated discipleship ceremony, promises Hu Yan Bo that he will take responsibility for the new student, and transfers the ruined sect's assets into Luo Feng's custody. Because he can no longer leave as a physical being, he moves his consciousness into the crystal core of a wrist cuff, from which he can communicate through a mindlink, maintain a virtual environment, and manage stored equipment. He then commits himself to accompanying Luo Feng for life and, under Hu Yan Bo's instructions, acting as his teacher until Luo Feng reaches domain lord. This duty is not merely ceremonial: Babata gives Luo Feng a structured curriculum, implants the inheritance soul imprint prepared by Hu Yan Bo, and insists on balanced foundations instead of a rapid advancement that would cripple later growth. Only after leaving the ship does Luo Feng learn how deliberately Babata engineered their meeting. Unable to depart, Babata had released Mu Ya Crystals, nurtured a monster emperor, and used the ship's spirit-energy emitter to draw Earth's strongest candidates toward the wreck while testing their mental aptitude. He selected Luo Feng because the latter had the best result available, not because he regarded Earth's talent highly. That mixture of manipulation and sincere guardianship defines his early mentorship: he controls access to Hu Yan Bo's resources, remodels alien equipment, plans the Cloud Contact Vine's development, and criticizes waste relentlessly, but he does so to keep a dangerously inexperienced heir alive long enough to grow. Earth's catastrophe and a second life for Luo Feng

The Golden-Horned Beast crisis confronts Babata with the limits of even his immense database. He helps recover and repair the Black Dragon X81's B6 laser cannon, reprograms a robot to operate it, and confidently predicts that destroying the beast's brain will kill it. The shot works mechanically but fails strategically: the beast survives despite losing most of its head, a result Babata cannot initially explain because neither he nor Hu Yan Bo had encountered such a creature. Rather than conceal that failure, he recognizes that the beast must possess an unknown racial talent and continues advising Luo Feng while Earth's apparent options collapse. (Chapters 248–256)

When Luo Feng possesses the Golden-Horned Beast and reconnects to the wrist cuff through his soul imprint, Babata immediately shifts from despair to opportunity. He helps Luo Feng understand the new body's inherited memories and explains what he knows—and does not know—about recovering a human form. Although he first recommends simply embracing the superior body, he accepts Luo Feng's determination to recreate his Earth identity and supports the choice to use its first nurtured body on Luo Feng's original human genes rather than a stronger race. His messages also reconnect Luo Feng to his family, including news of his sons' birth and of Xu Xin's survival through the Eternal Love amulet. Babata thus becomes the continuity between Luo Feng's altered existence and the human life he refuses to abandon. (Chapters 258–264)

Guide to the Black Dragon Mountain starfield

Once Luo Feng can leave Earth, Babata supplies the practical knowledge that turns raw inheritance into survival: routes, accounts, prices, imperial law, planetary registration, and access to the virtual universe. He searches markets at machine speed, evaluates ships and weapons, manages transactions, and warns Luo Feng to present himself as an heir with a powerful background. Most consequentially, he explains how Luo Feng can establish legal title to Earth and then instructs him to publicize the Black Dragon Mountain Empire's territorial protections. His knowledge does not remove the danger posed by the Nuolan Shan family, but it gives Luo Feng a lawful defense that Earth's own institutions could not have constructed. (Chapters 280–305)

Babata also turns technical superiority into direct operational advantage. He detects the lesser AI that the Nuolan Shan force uses to penetrate Earth's networks, traces its entry point, scans a guarded compound, and supplies Luo Feng with the captives' locations and the defenders' movements during the rescue. In the World Within a World, his scanner finds thunderstones, his economic judgment identifies the Life Fruit as the key investment, and his coordination with the evolved Cloud Contact Vine lets Luo Feng's group convert one treasure into the strength needed to seize more. Babata is neither the fighter nor the owner of these gains, but his choices repeatedly determine which risks Luo Feng takes and which resources become decisive. (Chapters 311–359)

As Luo Feng enters the genius competition, Babata remains a demanding instructor rather than an unquestioning admirer. He teaches Luo Feng to use the Killing Fields as a diagnostic tool, builds “hell training” around simulated opponents, and identifies deficiencies in technique and law comprehension. His judgment is also demonstrably fallible: he initially regards reaching the universe-wide top thousand as virtually impossible and recommends the Ganwu secret area as Luo Feng's realistic path. Luo Feng's continued rise beyond those expectations begins a quiet change in their relationship. Babata remains useful, but he is no longer the final authority on the scale of power Luo Feng is approaching. (Chapters 383–419)

From sole instructor to trusted specialist

Within the Virtual Universe Company, Babata's role narrows and deepens. He continues to wake Luo Feng from training, interpret unfamiliar environments, search maps, monitor hostile energy, evaluate treasures, and preserve Hu Yan Bo's techniques, but the company's knowledge and resources exceed those of the lost Yun Mo Planet sect. Babata openly admits that neither he nor Hu Yan Bo understood some of the universe's greatest mysteries, while Luo Feng gains teachers and opportunities beyond anything Babata could provide. He responds without abandoning his charge: he becomes the specialist who handles computation, scanning, logistics, and inherited knowledge while Luo Feng seeks higher instruction elsewhere. (Chapters 442–599)

The restoration of the Yun Mo Planet Ship gives that service an emotional center. Babata instantly identifies the materials and professional work needed for the repair, then joyfully resumes control of the upgraded vessel before grief over Hu Yan Bo overtakes him. Luo Feng's growth now makes revenge seem possible for the first time, and Babata asks him to kill the enemy who destroyed their former life. Later, when Luo Feng uses the ship in combat, Babata pilots it through hostile plant life, coordinates it with a second ship and the Cloud Contact Vine, and uses precise calculations to keep allied growths out of the firing paths. The operation briefly restores the exhilaration he remembers from traveling and fighting beside Hu Yan Bo. (Chapters 482, 614, and 701–702)

Babata's ability to create subsidiary AIs allows him to support Luo Feng's multiple bodies and vessels simultaneously, but the copies are explicitly not living beings: they contain his memories and can be controlled by him, yet lack his living quality. This distributed support becomes increasingly important as Luo Feng's activities spread across distant worlds. It also marks the boundary of Babata's original state. He can inhabit an automaton puppet and perform extraordinary computational work, but without an Evolution Heart he cannot truly fuse with a body or progress toward undying, regardless of how long he trains. A body, an evolutionary path, and vengeance

Luo Feng eventually spends part of his battlefield fortune on a Heart of Evolution for Babata. Fused with a compact automaton body, Babata gains the capacity to sense laws, cultivate, and evolve rather than merely operate a metal shell. The gift changes his future, but it does not erase his past. When Luo Feng finds Devil Hand Emperor Suo Luo Pu—the enemy responsible for Hu Yan Bo's death—Babata insists on witnessing the killing, and his hatred briefly overwhelms his usual analytical control. Luo Feng treats that loss of composure as proof of Babata's personhood rather than a defect. (Chapters 807 and 911)

After Luo Feng kills the body before them, Babata believes a burden carried for more than 60,000 years has finally ended. He addresses the absent Hu Yan Bo, tells him that he has been avenged, and thanks Luo Feng only after releasing grief and rage that he had suppressed since the destruction of Yun Mo Planet. Babata then chooses to return to Luo Feng's world ring, where stronger servants can guide his cultivation, because his current physical strength would hinder Luo Feng in the battles ahead. The corpus later reveals that Suo Luo Pu had divided his god body and hidden a surviving portion; neither Babata nor Luo Feng knows this at the time, so Babata's emotional closure rests on an incomplete victory. Rebuilding Yun Mo Planet and recovering its master

By the time Luo Feng reaches the highest conflicts of the original universe, Babata has become undying through the resources Luo Feng provided. His original body trains on Earth and gives substantial help to Luo Feng's family, while a subsidiary intelligence continues handling searches and routine support for Luo Feng. This separation reflects how far their lives have diverged: Babata has achieved the immortality once denied to him, but an ordinary undying cannot participate meaningfully in Luo Feng's universe-master battles. (Chapters 1105–1106)

Babata nevertheless builds a life from the legacy he guarded. After becoming undying, he reconstructs Yun Mo Planet, restores its former sphere of influence apart from Earth, and trains candidates from many worlds. He eventually reaches undying-emperor rank and can teleport. His pride remains intact, but his relationship with Luo Feng has changed from scolding a weak student by name to addressing a supreme human power as “Master”; Babata admits that even Luo Feng's deliberate restraint cannot entirely remove that awe. Luo Feng then repays the oldest debt between them by reversing time and resurrecting Hu Yan Bo and his nine soul slaves. Babata identifies them in the recovered past, trembles as the choice becomes real, and embraces Hu Yan Bo when he returns, repeatedly calling him “big brother.” The reunion confirms what Babata's service had always implied: Hu Yan Bo was both an elder brother and a father to him, while Luo Feng became the master who enabled Babata to outgrow the future he once thought impossible. In the latest substantive account of his life, Babata remains with the restored Yun Mo Planet group, explaining Luo Feng's early journey from Earth's catastrophe through the genius battle while acknowledging that Luo Feng's later ascent surpassed even his own knowledge. Appearance and personality

Babata first presents himself through a virtual body resembling a small black-robed child with pale skin, blood-red eyes, two horns, and small fangs. (Chapters 218 and 228) The form can be expressive and comic—he dresses it lavishly, eats, bathes, plays games, and perches on Luo Feng's shoulder in virtual space—but its childish appearance contrasts with an existence measured across immense spans of time. (Chapters 225–226, 281, and 305) After receiving the Heart of Evolution, he inhabits a roughly child-sized armored body with red crystal-like eyes and two golden horns; when presiding over rebuilt Yun Mo Planet, he again appears as a chubby black-caped child with antennae and red eyes. (Chapters 911 and 1313)

He is proud, theatrical, impatient, and fond of calling others stupid, particularly when Earthly standards offend his cosmic experience. That arrogance coexists with practical caution: he hoards irreplaceable resources, warns Luo Feng against exposing wealth, and repeatedly favors long-term foundations over gratifying short-term gains. His deepest trait is loyalty. Fifty millennia of isolation do not weaken his commitment to Hu Yan Bo, and his mentorship of Luo Feng grows from a command he must fulfill into a lifelong bond expressed through protection, criticism, technical service, and eventually mutual gratitude. His failures and emotional outbursts are not incidental flaws; the corpus treats them as evidence that he is a living person rather than a merely efficient program. Abilities and progression

Babata's principal capabilities begin as those of a living AI rather than a fighter. His later physical cultivation depends on the Heart of Evolution and must be distinguished from the computational and technical abilities he possessed while virtual.

Living intelligence and distributed consciousness

Hu Yan Bo's long companionship allowed Babata to progress from an ordinary AI into a living AI with independent judgment, emotion, memory, and the ability to train. After his original body was destroyed, his consciousness could return to a virtual state and reside in the crystal core of Luo Feng's wrist cuff. Through that core he communicates by mindlink, maintains a personal virtual space, interfaces with compatible systems, and uses its storage. Early on, entering the virtual universe requires care because he can multitask but cannot split his one living consciousness. (Chapters 218, 222–223, and 281)

Babata later solves part of that constraint by producing subsidiary AIs for Luo Feng's bodies, ships, and arm computer. These copies contain his stored memories and can act as high-grade assistants; Babata can also take control of them. They are not independent extensions of his personhood, however, because the corpus explicitly says they lack his living quality. By the time his original body trains on Earth, a subsidiary can still answer Luo Feng, retrieve records, and maintain the continuity of his support across extreme distances. Computation, intrusion, and surveillance

Babata can process and filter large bodies of information in seconds, search connected databases, evaluate prices and technical specifications, calculate routes and coordinates, and convert raw records into operational advice. He can rewrite vulnerable control systems without alerting their owners, penetrate networks, identify a lesser AI's intrusion, and coordinate missions from scans of terrain, life signs, equipment, and movement. Representative uses include modifying Luo Feng's autojet priority, tracing the Nuolan Shan team's hidden base through its AI, mapping the defenders during a hostage rescue, and guiding underground operations through hostile territory. (Chapters 223, 231, 311, and 561–565)

These capabilities are powerful rather than unlimited. His early portable scanner has a stated radius of about 20 kilometers; detailed enemy scanners can threaten the secrecy of what he directs, while hostile facilities or superior scanners can jam or evade his readings. (Chapters 351, 355, 576, and 798) He cannot safely hack perfect F9 automaton puppets whose defenses would trigger self-destruction, and he admits ignorance when information lies beyond Hu Yan Bo's experience or protected technologies; even the operating principle of the universe-wide virtual network is unknown to him. Engineering and vessel control

Babata's technical archive covers advanced machinery, spacecraft, energy systems, and high-civilization designs. Given adequate materials, robots, and equipment, he claims he can build an interstellar vessel; on resource-poor Earth, he instead plans around salvaged hulls, upgrades a gravity room, repairs the Black Dragon X81's ancient B6 laser cannon, and reprograms a robot to fire it. The laser's shot performs to specification but fails to kill the Golden-Horned Beast because Babata's biological assumption is wrong, showing that precise engineering cannot compensate for missing knowledge about the target. As a pilot and combat coordinator, Babata can directly control the Yun Mo Planet Ship, synchronize it with subsidiary-controlled vessels, calculate attack paths, and manage rapid maneuvering. Against the Sha Luo Flower and metal vine, he repeatedly drives the ship's sharpened hull through hostile growths while coordinating another ship and avoiding Luo Feng's Cloud Contact Vine. The feat demonstrates computation, timing, and equipment use rather than innate destructive power: the cutting force and defenses belong to the vessel. (Chapters 614 and 701–702)

Instruction and tactical analysis

As keeper of Hu Yan Bo's legacy, Babata can transmit its curriculum, explain spirit-reader and fighter foundations, preserve training experience, and build virtual environments for study. He analyzes Luo Feng's body and techniques, selects resources for the Golden-Horned Beast and its clones, creates suitable opponents in the Killing Fields, and turns defeats into targeted training plans. He also applies his knowledge to plant life, especially the staged evolution of the Cloud Contact Vine. (Chapters 228–230, 281, 315–316, 371–372, and 611)

His mentorship is bounded by the level of that inherited experience. Babata can recognize flaws and forecast normal progress, but he repeatedly underestimates paths outside Hu Yan Bo's horizon, including Luo Feng's genius-battle ceiling. Once Luo Feng enters the Virtual Universe Company's highest training systems, Babata remains a valuable analyst and archivist rather than a comprehensive master of laws or the universe's deepest secrets. By Chapter 1314, he states directly that he knows Luo Feng's life well only through the period before Luo Feng became undying. (Chapters 386, 391, 410, 442–445, and 1314)

Heart of Evolution and undying progression

Before receiving a Heart of Evolution, Babata can control a metal puppet but cannot truly fuse with it or evolve through cultivation. The Heart supplies that missing integration, joining living intelligence and body so that he can sense the universe laws and strengthen as an automaton-like warrior. Its activation and detailed internal mechanics are not explained beyond that fusion, and the corpus does not give Babata a named combat technique. (Chapters 807 and 911)

With the Heart, Babata expects rapid advancement to sector lord but regards the step to undying as exceptionally difficult. He withdraws from Luo Feng's front-line operations to cultivate under stronger guides, later succeeds in becoming undying, and ultimately reaches undying-emperor rank. His latest demonstrated personal power is teleportation at Yun Mo Planet. The corpus establishes the result and his access to generous resources from Luo Feng, but it does not detail his intermediate breakthroughs, godly-body properties, combat applications, costs, or limits; those mechanics remain unknown.
