Hu Yan Bo

Hu Yan Bo is a spirit reader and soul specialist who establishes the Yun Mo Planet lineage, creates the Soul Imprint and Soaring Shuttle, and becomes an official-level undying despite beginning with an unexceptional human body. His first life ends when Devil Hand Emperor Suo Luo Pu destroys his soul after a wider battle has already killed disciples, servants, and his undying Cloud Contact Vine. Hu Yan Bo's preparations nevertheless survive on Earth through Babata, the damaged Yun Mo Planet Ship, staged bank accounts, complete manuals, and an inheritance imprint. Luo Feng becomes his posthumous fifth disciple, uses that foundation to enter cosmic civilization, and later appears to avenge him. Much later, Luo Feng resurrects Hu Yan Bo and his nine soul-bound servants. With access to ancient-civilization guidance, Hu Yan Bo breaks through to universe knight and personally completes the pursuit of his killer. Biography

Rising as a lone spirit reader

Hu Yan Bo's early life is reconstructed through Babata and later assessments rather than shown directly. His original human lineage is only slightly better than that of Earthlings. At some point he uses a soul-transfer or possession technique to take the body of a Longke youth, a human branch ranked among the top thirty bloodlines whose adults naturally reach universe level. The better body accelerates his cultivation, but Babata emphasizes that Hu Yan Bo still endures repeated trials before reaching undying rather than receiving the rank automatically from lineage. Over roughly six thousand eras—about sixty million years—Hu Yan Bo becomes a roaming undying spirit reader and joins the Universe Mercenary Alliance. He operates as a lone cultivator rather than a core-trained member of one of humanity's greatest institutions. Later narration classifies him as an official-level undying and notes that he creates his techniques without the ancient-civilization guidance available in the final human era. His status commands respect from the Black Dragon Mountain Empire and the Ganwu Empire's regional powers, but not enough force to challenge a universe country or the highest human organizations casually. His rise centers on soul techniques and a network of dependents. Soul Imprint allows him to control nine servants while preserving their memories, intelligence, and ability to cultivate; they advance from universe, domain-lord, and sector-lord levels until all nine become undying. Hu Yan Bo also raises a Cloud Contact Vine to undying, spending more than half his wealth on it, and develops or collects a broad teaching system for controllers and illusionists. These results make him a formidable independent “soul master,” but later comparisons place him below emperor-level soul specialists and far below universe masters. Destruction, Earth, and a final inheritance

Hu Yan Bo's last expedition becomes a conflict spanning multiple galaxies. Four of his nine undying servants die in the larger battle, his soul is severely damaged, and his Cloud Contact Vine is killed. While he retreats through dark space in the Yun Mo Planet Ship, the low-emperor soul master Suo Luo Pu—later called Devil Hand Emperor—uses a soul technique designed to ensure Hu Yan Bo cannot regenerate from a surviving cell. An automaton undying breaches the ship in the pursuit and is killed inside, but the attack also kills Hu Yan Bo's second disciple and damages the F-grade hull. Before or during his time around Earth, Hu Yan Bo hides the planet's dark-universe coordinates across a surrounding thousand-light-year region, preventing ordinary ships from locating it through universe travel. He establishes monitoring bases such as Archaeological Ruin Number Nine and leaves the crippled Yun Mo Planet Ship deep underground. These measures give Earth accidental protection from cosmic civilization for tens of thousands of years. His final instruction, repeated to Luo Feng through Babata, is to respect the universe and remain humble because even an undying with many survival methods can encounter something stronger. This warning is the clearest surviving statement of his mature worldview, but it does not reveal whether caution had characterized his earlier life or was learned primarily from the fatal pursuit. Fifty thousand years later, Babata finds Luo Feng inside the ship, shows him Hu Yan Bo's preserved body, and offers the inheritance. Luo Feng already uses the Soaring Shuttle and Soaring Sky, so he kneels out of respect before formally becoming the deceased master's fifth disciple. Babata conducts the abbreviated ceremony, applies the prepared inheritance imprint, and takes responsibility for teaching in Hu Yan Bo's place. Hu Yan Bo therefore has no living agency in selecting or instructing Luo Feng at this point; the posthumous relationship is real, but mediated almost entirely by Babata and the systems left behind. The inheritance carried into a wider universe

Hu Yan Bo's foundation reshapes Luo Feng's early development. The Yun Mo manuals replace Earth's improvised spirit-reader methods with structured control, illusion, soul defense, and soul-mark training. The hidden coordinates delay discovery of Earth, the ship's remains provide rare materials, and the staged accounts finance travel, plant cultivation, family investment, and eventually ship restoration. One account accessed later contains about 3.12 million mixed elements—enough to buy several starfields—although Luo Feng's rising position eventually makes that fortune less extraordinary than it would have been at the inheritance's beginning. The legacy is extensive but not at humanity's highest level. In Primal Chaos City, Luo Feng encounters undyings wealthier than Hu Yan Bo and teachings far beyond Soul Imprint. Supreme Demon Note inheritance transforms the soul more profoundly; Ten Thousand Soul Control can command vastly more targets; and True Yan Knight and Primal Chaos City Leader offer active, higher-level guidance. Luo Feng remains grateful to Hu Yan Bo while acknowledging that he never knew him personally and feels a deeper emotional bond with True Yan, who teaches him for decades. Hu Yan Bo's equipment also continues evolving beyond its creator's original standard. The Virtual Universe Company rebuilds and upgrades the Yun Mo Planet Ship until it is faster and more powerful than when Hu Yan Bo piloted it. Luo Feng cultivates a more complex Cloud Contact Vine, uses higher-order soul control, and creates techniques beyond Hu Yan Bo's level. These later improvements demonstrate the value of the starting platform without retroactively crediting Hu Yan Bo for systems and performance developed by other people. Babata is the most living part of the inheritance. Hu Yan Bo originally gives the AI a body and accompanies him through innumerable dangers until he develops into a true emotional life form. Even after Babata recognizes Luo Feng as master at domain-lord level, he feels more instinctive attachment to Hu Yan Bo and commonly addresses Luo Feng by name. His memories supply technical context, warnings, and eventually the identity of the killer; his loyalties also explain why restoration of Yun Mo Planet and Hu Yan Bo remain important long after the material inheritance has become small beside Luo Feng's own power. A revenge that does not end the enemy

Once Luo Feng's combat strength approaches the highest emperors, he asks Babata to name Hu Yan Bo's killer. Babata identifies Devil Hand Emperor Suo Luo Pu, a low-emperor soul master. Luo Feng researches him, travels to Devil Hand Star, and kills the apparently wounded undying with Fei Mo poison while Babata watches. For Babata, the scene releases tens of thousands of years of grief; for Luo Feng, it is repayment of an inherited debt rather than revenge rooted in personal memory. (Chapters 907–912)

The apparent execution is incomplete. Suo Luo Pu had divided his godly body and left the weaker portion as a decoy, reasoning that Luo Feng's use of the Yun Mo Planet Ship proved a connection to Hu Yan Bo. Luo Feng and Babata depart believing the enemy dead while the hidden portion survives. This distinction matters: Luo Feng fulfills his obligation in intent and defeats the body he finds, but the source does not support claiming that he permanently kills Hu Yan Bo's murderer at that time. The unfinished feud returns only after Hu Yan Bo's second life. In the thirty-nine-thousandth era, Babata discovers Suo Luo Pu's location. Hu Yan Bo, now a universe knight, pursues the former emperor through three eras of complications and kills him personally. The text supplies the duration and result but not a scene-level account of the chase, the techniques used, or whether Suo Luo Pu had advanced in rank. (Chapter 1408)

Resurrection and a second cultivation life

After Babata becomes undying, he rebuilds Yun Mo Planet and restores most of Hu Yan Bo's former power area, excluding the region around Earth. Luo Feng visits the reconstruction and decides to repay both men by resurrecting Hu Yan Bo and all nine soul slaves. He reverses time over the Yun Mo space, brings the ten undyings from the past into the present, and bears the resulting burden himself. This is a true return to life rather than a clone, preserved consciousness, or earlier hidden survival; Hu Yan Bo remembers his death and initially cannot understand how much time has passed. The reunion reveals the relationship Hu Yan Bo created with Babata. Babata immediately embraces him and repeatedly calls him elder brother, while narration describes Hu Yan Bo as both brother and father to the living AI. Hu Yan Bo is astonished that Babata has become an undying emperor and initially fails even to notice Luo Feng standing nearby. When Luo Feng calls him “Teacher,” the old official and his servants struggle to reconcile their broken lineage with the Milky Way Horde Leader who can reverse time. (Chapters 1313–1314)

Hu Yan Bo responds with caution rather than entitlement. He tells Babata that an old favor does not permit reckless behavior toward a supreme being and interprets Luo Feng's effortless majesty as a reason to remain respectful. At the same time, he and the servants take pride that their inheritance contributed to Luo Feng's path. The scene allows a living teacher and posthumous student to meet, but they do not suddenly acquire the intimate bond created by years of instruction; Luo Feng leaves them space because Hu Yan Bo and Babata have the deeper shared history. The new human era finally gives Hu Yan Bo the guidance he lacked. In the thirty-nine-thousandth era after the World of Jin's influence spreads, he is admitted into the Virtual Universe Company and becomes a universe knight through ancient-civilization instruction. The narrator treats his breakthrough as evidence that independent officials and emperors who created techniques alone were already genuine talents. Hu Yan Bo later appears among Luo Feng's assembled friends and great beings. He is alive at that point; no later true-god breakthrough, death, or journey beyond reincarnation is supplied. Appearance and personality

Hu Yan Bo's preserved body is about three meters long with two flexible antennae, long hair, narrow eyes, and otherwise human features. His face is described as extremely handsome, with an androgynous or feminine beauty capable of affecting an observer even in death. This is the Longke body he obtained through soul transfer, not necessarily his birth appearance. After resurrection he is again called handsome, but the corpus provides no detailed update, fixed eye or hair color, or ordinary clothing description. (Chapters 218–221 and 1313)

Most knowledge of his first-life personality comes from what he built and from Babata's devotion. He is meticulous enough to stage accounts, manuals, weapons, and rank-gated resources for an unknown successor, and he raises Babata from a normal AI into an emotional life form. His nine servants' soul control complicates the image of benevolent mentorship: they retain self-awareness and grow beside him, yet their absolute loyalty and death upon his fall originate in a coercive technique. After resurrection, Hu Yan Bo is humble, socially perceptive, and wary of overestimating old prestige. His warning that people without respect do not live long echoes his final first-life instruction to remain humble before the universe. After resurrection, Virtual Universe Company and ancient-civilization guidance help him become a universe knight. Soul Imprint and control

Soul Imprint is Hu Yan Bo's signature creation and the technique he calls the main reason for his rise. Hu Yan Bo uses it to control nine beings at lower ranks and keeps them as they all advance to undying. The technique is powerful but limited. Hu Yan Bo can control only nine undyings, cannot command a sector-lord Bug Clan Mother Nest, and his imprint can be broken during Luo Feng's first attempt to control such a queen. Hu Yan Bo creates the Soaring Shuttle and its matching Soaring Sky manual. Hu Yan Bo accumulates millions of mixed elements, an F-grade ship, rare manuals, and an undying Cloud Contact Vine. He spends heavily on survival rather than holding all wealth as currency, and the plant saves him in multiple earlier dangers before dying in the final conflict. His nurturing route gives the vine only an estimated forty-percent chance to break through, underscoring both the expense and uncertainty of producing an undying plant. His space technique removes Earth's surrounding thousand-light-year coordinates from ordinary maps and universe-travel location systems.
