Siltang Bow

The Siltang Bow is Michael Fang's first high-quality Bow Artifact. Its paired enchantments store origin energy and convert that reserve into arrows, eliminating his need for a separate Return Arrow Artifact and supporting the ranged style he develops around Eagle Eyes and Enhancement.

History

Repayment and binding

Alice Zenovia procures the Siltang Bow while settling her brother Kaleb's debt to Michael. She chooses it after failing to find a Return Arrow that meets Michael's requirements, explaining that its own enchantments make such ammunition unnecessary. Michael binds the bow to his War Rune alongside the Onyx Dragon Armor. Its external enhancement contributes to his improved perception, while its immediate Arrow Creation lets him enter the academy aptitude assessment without first learning a separate ammunition system. (Chapters 104–108)

Academy and Untamed Jungle battles

Michael first tests the bow against Annabelle Claire, rapidly forming arrows on the string and intercepting her projectiles in flight. He then uses it against Frederik's wind attacks and combines it with Lesser Enhancement, Eagle Eyes, and the Onyx Dragon Armor. In the Untamed Jungle, the bow delivers an alchemical tincture into the Blood-eyed Minotaur, restricts enemies with accurate shots, and supports ambushes against Adventurers, Mercenaries, and Lionhearts. Its effectiveness depends on Michael's aim, energy, and target defenses; Frederik can destroy its arrows, and the Minotaur's hide initially limits penetration. (Chapters 111–169, 178–215)

Replacement by Zark

After reaching Tier 2, Michael shops for equipment that will not constrain his stronger body. He purchases Zark, a Tier-2 bow made by the same creators and built around the same functions. Zark can store more energy and generate a broader range of arrows, so it replaces the Siltang Bow as Michael's active ranged Artifact. The corpus does not say whether Michael sells, gifts, or continues storing the older bow after that replacement. (Chapter 235)

Abilities and properties

  • Energy Storage holds Michael's origin energy within the bow's frame. The stored energy also makes the frame sturdier and supplies the reserve used by Arrow Creation. (Chapter 104)
  • Arrow Creation condenses origin-energy arrows directly on the bowstring. Greater energy expenditure makes a stronger arrow, while immediate creation enables rapid successive shots without physical ammunition. (Chapters 104 and 111–112)
  • The bow has a high natural pulling force and is made from twisted, silver-sparkling wood. A Grandmaster created it, and Alice values it above the combined price of an ordinary bow and Return Arrow of the same rank. (Chapter 104)
  • Binding the bow provides external enhancement with an emphasis on perception. Its exact isolated percentage is not given because the stated gains are combined with Michael's other newly bound Artifacts. (Chapters 105 and 108)
  • Enhancement can increase the Artifact's force and the resilience of its created arrows, but this is Michael's Soultrait acting on the bow rather than an intrinsic third enchantment. (Chapters 111–114 and 141–169)
