Selena

Selena Ryn is a founder and leader of the Nest, the hidden community of Curse Users opposing the Supreme Human Alliance. Her joking manner conceals an ancient and highly disciplined Demi-God who trains Michael Fang, helps restore Daniel Fang, directs the Nest through the Titan War, and ultimately turns from vengeance toward protecting human populations after the Alliance's collapse.

Biography

The Nest and the Supreme Human Alliance

Selena is introduced at the center of a community that survives by secrecy. As one of the Nest's founders and its leader, she treats Michael's arrival as both an opportunity and a security threat: the Nest investigates his life before admitting him, while her Curse separately confirms that his two Curses are abnormal. Her knowledge of the Fenrir and White Tiger bloodlines lets her recognize why his serpent Curse cannot be explained by family inheritance alone. She then tests him personally, watches whether he can retain control under pressure, and grants him membership only after his attack manages to scratch her defense. (Chapters 787–799)

Selena's mentorship is deliberately harsh but tied to concrete responsibilities. She secures access to the Spring of Abundant Life so Daniel can reconstruct a flawless vessel, isolates the site, and spends six weeks forcing Michael to master Curse Transformation and Curse Fusion under combat stress. Once Daniel emerges, she identifies the new body's vulnerability to nearby curse power, removes the brothers, and creates an artificial War Rune so Daniel can awaken again. Selena later gives Michael emergency equipment and her curse-infused blood, advises him on rebuilding the Tritan Alliance, and repeatedly stops his desire to rescue his captured friends from becoming a suicidal assault. Trials, Divinities, and the Titan War

When the Supreme Human Alliance deploys the Numbers, Selena moves from private mentor to wartime commander. She has Michael extract information from recovered corpses, assigns two Nest teams to the Altors Union front, and warns that the operatives cannot endanger themselves merely because some Numbers are Michael's friends. After the mission collapses into an ambush, she distinguishes his rescue attempt from the enemy's planning instead of using him as a scapegoat. She later locates and retrieves Alice and Lincoln; Alice survives for treatment, while Selena returns Lincoln's body and gives Michael time to concentrate on reversing the Blood Incursion. Michael's gift of Soultrait Symbols briefly changes the balance of the war. Selena takes four five-star Soultraits while distributing the rest among the Nest's strongest members, and her reaction shows both relief and renewed resolve after millennia near her limit. The strengthened Nest conquers five stellar systems, but the Alliance concentrates its Demi-Gods against the Curse Users while the Altors Union withholds reinforcements. Half the Nest is killed and the survivors are severely injured. Selena, already a Tier 9 Demi-God, remains the least injured, terminates the Nest's contracts with the Altors Union, and accepts that even a dramatic personal increase cannot compensate for betrayal and numerical disadvantage. God Wars and the Primal Conflict

Selena eventually turns her unusually potent curse power toward undoing the mechanism that sustained the Alliance. Working with Evee and researchers connected to Michael, she channels her power into Gynovia Crystals for Anti-Blood-I potions and childhood vaccines. Her supply is finite—half an hour empties it, and filling the prepared crates requires several days of repeated recovery—but the treated crystals can support medicine for an entire stellar system. Selena personally continues this work in conquered territories and rejects indiscriminate extermination, reasoning that countless Hyumans are victims of Blood Incursion rather than willing participants in the Alliance's crimes. After Michael kills a Primal and the restraints on the gods begin to fail, Selena asks what role the Nest should take. She is confident that freed gods can learn responsibility, but remains wary of killing the Alliance's remaining Demi-Gods because rival organizations would massacre the now-defenseless population. Michael reveals that Selena's own family has belonged to the Alliance for fifteen hundred years and that fear of the Primal kept her from attempting godhood. His proposal that she guide what survives of the Alliance makes her anti-Blood work personal as well as strategic, while incoming gods seeking Nest affiliation begin transforming the once-hidden refuge into a center of the new order. The Unknown Domain and the New Era

The end of the Primal conflict also ends the old form of the Nest. Many Curses separate from their users, although Snievor leaves part of its Essence within Selena. She redirects former Curse Users toward the Human Protection Service, offering Eren guardianship of the Zelgon Stellar System and suggesting similar work to Peter Fang as a way to rebuild a life and make amends. These assignments preserve the Nest's protective purpose without requiring its members to remain soldiers in an obsolete war, and they reveal Selena applying hard-earned knowledge of isolation to other people rather than simply commanding them. Selena takes responsibility for an entire multi-species galaxy where human populations could otherwise become targets of retaliation. She protects its political coexistence without seizing ordinary civil government, remaining the one defender able to cross the galaxy quickly if a racial attack begins. Victory does not leave her triumphant: she admits through her thoughts that the Alliance took everything from her, that centuries of revenge also killed innocents, and that the Nest's dispersal has made her lonely. Her continued conversations with Snievor and her hope that even former Alliance citizens can live show a final change from punishing an enemy to preventing anyone else from inheriting the same suffering. Appearance and personality

Selena is introduced as a tall woman with silky golden hair, which she ties into a ponytail, and vibrant crimson eyes. The corpus does not establish a fixed outfit, precise age, or further permanent physical details. Her heels are sometimes audible before she enters a scene, but that recurring sound is not enough to treat any particular clothing as a canonical uniform. Later references to a black-haired, blue-eyed woman in Selena's office describe Alice Zenovia rather than Selena. (Chapters 787, 947)

In ordinary conversation Selena is theatrical, mischievous, and deliberately unserious. She sulks when Eren calls her “Leader,” laughs artificially, provokes Michael during training, and uses teasing to keep anxious people from spiraling. The performance is not incapacity: danger wipes the act away immediately, and she can become curt, observant, and decisive when the Nest is threatened. Her patience with Michael's loyalties and her advice to Peter also show compassion expressed without sentimentality. In the final era, that humor remains, but loneliness and regret reveal how much of it has long functioned as emotional armor. (Chapters 787, 796–799, 834, 906, 963, 1096–1098)

Curse, divinity, and abilities

Selena combines the raw body and energy of a Divine Lifeform with an ancient Curse, unnamed high-star Soultraits, detailed Curse User knowledge, and long experience as a commander. The corpus demonstrates effects more often than it explains her internal technique: her poisonous jinx power, curse-infused blood, physical dominance, and anti-Blood applications are explicit, while the names and mechanics of her original Soultraits remain unstated.

Snievor and poisonous jinx power

Selena's Curse is revealed at the end of the corpus as Snievor, the Nine-headed Emperor Hydra. Earlier chapters establish the Curse indirectly through its ability to assess other Curses and through the poisonous jinx quality of Selena's curse power. A released wave knocks Michael away and continues poisoning him until Extraction, Swallow Domain, healing serum, and enhanced regeneration work for roughly half an hour to expel it. Selena can also form a curse-power dome that prevents nearby people from overhearing a conversation. The text does not explain whether every poison effect comes from Snievor alone or from an interaction with Selena's unnamed Soultraits. (Chapters 788, 826, 834, 1098)

Her curse-infused blood preserves enough sentience to recognize Michael and align with an intent he inserts into it. One green droplet enters a Peak Tier 6 Hyuman, suppresses his Primordial Bloodline technique, tears at his energy paths, and inflicts pain or death when he violates the imposed conditions. This application exhausts Michael's available soul and curse power, and Selena later says it would have failed had the remnant sentience rejected his intent. After the Curses gain freedom, Snievor removes most of its Essence but leaves a trace inside Selena, allowing continued mental conversation; the corpus does not show whether her earlier poison operates at the same strength afterward. Divine body, energy, and combat control

By the time Selena trains Michael, she is already a Divine Lifeform whose unarmed punches and kicks could kill him in one blow. She holds back with enough precision to break bones repeatedly without killing him, resists his attacks without weapons or curse power, moves quickly enough to vanish into a blur, and can spread her energy through the entire Nest almost instantly. When she does release her presence, it forces Michael to his knees; a more focused burst of curse might nearly knocks him unconscious. These feats establish overwhelming power and restraint, not immunity: later warfare leaves her injured, and multiple enemy Demi-Gods remain a strategic danger even to the Nest's strongest members. Selena is explicitly Tier 9 and a Demi-God during the Titan War. She has remained near that limit for thousands of years and possesses a territory larger than Michael's. The corpus later reveals that she avoided ascending to godhood because of the Primal rather than because she lacked ambition, while Evee considers her the Curse User closest to godhood until Michael surpasses her. Four additional five-star Soultraits push her beyond a damaged Cosmos Queen Beast that had previously been comparable to her, but their names and separate functions are never supplied. Her established main powers include two eight-star Soultraits, yet attributing any specific observed effect to either would be speculative. (Chapters 949, 963, 968, 1035, 1067)

Curse instruction and artificial awakening

Selena understands Cursed Seals, Major Seals, Curse Transformation, and the compatibility problems that arise when one user carries multiple Curses. She teaches Michael to connect active seals to the Curse Transformation Arts, manifest separate Curse body parts, maintain their fusion under stress, and use Soultraits at the same time. Her method relies on controlled combat and relentless pressure rather than explanation alone. The training raises Michael's compatibility with his Curses and reduces the risk that their power will control him, although Selena explicitly notes that exceptions exist and does not claim the technique guarantees safety for every Curse User. She also possesses a means to give Daniel an artificial War Rune after his previous awakening makes a natural second manifestation impossible. Selena channels origin energy through his new paths and uses a small, unexplained object to help form the Energy Pillar, War Rune, and first Runic Gate in less than an hour. The procedure causes difficulty while Daniel's unused energy paths stretch, but does not injure him. Its catalyst and broader requirements are not explained, so the feat establishes specialized knowledge and access rather than a universally repeatable innate power. (Chapters 835–836)

Anti-Blood-I support

Selena's curse power is particularly effective against Blood Incursion. When filtered through Gynovia Crystals, it can slow and diminish the corruption rather than merely poison its host, making her the best Nest contributor to the Anti-Blood-I potion and vaccine program. Potency improves when the Curse User is stronger than the patient, which gives her Demi-God rank practical value, but the process is exhausting and still requires researchers, crystals, experiments, and manufacturing. Michael Fang

Michael Fang begins as a possible threat Selena investigates before admitting him to the Nest. She becomes one of his most demanding mentors, using physical pressure to teach him how to live with multiple Curses, while also arranging Daniel's restoration and repeatedly checking Michael's impulse to save everyone alone. Their relationship becomes strategic as well as personal: Michael gives her new Soultraits and helps develop Anti-Blood-I, while Selena gives him knowledge, equipment, political advice, and trust. By the new order she accepts his greater power without surrendering her own judgment, especially when the fate of the Alliance's civilians is at stake. Eren Long

Eren Long serves as Selena's commander and addresses her formally even when she turns the title into a joke. They share responsibility for recruiting and training Michael, managing wartime intelligence, and steering him away from reckless decisions. Selena trusts Eren with the Tritan crisis and later offers him a guardianship position when the Nest's original mission ends. The offer recognizes both his need for purpose after the Silver Dragon leaves and the protective values they built together through the Nest. (Chapters 787–799, 837, 895, 917, 1094)

Evee

Evee regards Selena as both an exasperating authority figure and the strongest Curse User she knows. Selena relies on Evee's foresight and research strongly enough to alter Michael's plans when Evee predicts danger, while Evee speaks bluntly to her during the Anti-Blood project. Their complementary work is crucial: Evee explains the research and prepares the Gynovia Crystals, and Selena supplies the rare curse power needed to make the medicine effective on a stellar scale. Snievor

Snievor, the Nine-headed Emperor Hydra, is Selena's Curse and long-term mental companion. Its power supports her life as the Nest's strongest Curse User, and it can independently assess the nature of other Curses. When Curses are freed, Snievor leaves most of its Essence but deliberately preserves a trace so Selena will not be alone. Their final teasing exchange mirrors Selena's own habit of hiding care behind annoyance: she says Snievor bothers her, then immediately withdraws the complaint when it offers to leave. The Nest

Selena's relationship with the Nest is both institutional and personal. She founded and leads it as a refuge for people whom the Supreme Human Alliance hunted, giving orders, screening newcomers, training Curse Users, and taking responsibility for alliances. The loss of half its members in the Titan War leaves her visibly stripped of her usual levity. After the old conflict ends, she does not try to preserve the organization for its own sake; instead, she helps its traumatized members find protective work, community, and independent lives through the Human Protection Service. Compass Relic and emergency teleportation device

Before Michael returns to the endangered Tritan Alliance, Selena gives him a golden Compass Relic charged with compressed origin energy and an overcharged one-use teleportation array linked to the Nest. The compass works with a spatial Soultrait to point toward a desired destination and power long-distance jumps; the second device provides a direct retreat. These tools are Selena's operational equipment and resources, but she transfers them to Michael for the mission rather than retaining custody. (Chapters 843–845)

Vial of curse-infused blood

Selena gives Michael a vial containing one droplet of her green, curse-infused blood. Its preserved sentience and poisonous power let him bind a Peak Tier 6 Hyuman to conditions protecting the Tritan Alliance. The droplet is consumed by being inserted into the target and is not shown returning to Selena. Its success depends on the blood accepting Michael's intent, making it a temporary, transferred resource rather than an ordinary poison he can reproduce on his own. (Chapters 843, 859–861)

Gynovia Crystals

Gynovia Crystals are research materials prepared by Evee and the anti-Blood team for Selena to saturate with curse power. Selena does not own them as personal treasures; she processes entire crates over several days so researchers can turn their contents into Anti-Blood-I potions and vaccines. The crystals are important because they alter her curse power into a form that diminishes Blood Incursion, but the treatment still requires successful experiments and later mass production.
