Silvaris

Silvaris Gracevale is a Seraphkin Eternal assigned to guard Gracevale's Hall. His attempt to arrest Nux ends in a rapid defeat by Sharnoth; after being taken into Nux's universe, he later appears fighting as part of the same enemy army he once opposed.

Biography

Guarding Gracevale's public order

Silvaris is one of Gracevale's resident Eternals and remains at its Hall to respond when something falls outside the world's normal order. He intervenes as Nux devours Carlen, commanding the intruder to release him. Although Silvaris privately places little value on Carlen's life, he feels obligated to preserve the appearance of a guardian and rejects Nux's attempt to assign him responsibility for the death. (Chapter 2145)

He activates his Domain and commands everyone within it to kneel. The order subdues the surrounding bystanders and Carlen but leaves Nux entirely unaffected, forcing Silvaris to recognize a danger outside his experience. Before he can adapt or call reinforcements, Sharnoth attacks from behind, contaminates his internal energy with Chaos Energy, and destroys his control of both his body and Domain. His failure is not a prolonged contest: he is rendered unconscious before the other Gracevale Eternals fully enter the fight. (Chapters 2145–2146)

Capture and unexplained service under Nux

Even while incapacitated, Silvaris orders the other Eternals to attack Nux together. Their assault fails, and Nux later devours the unconscious guardian after the surviving Eternals submit under threat of death. For outside observers, Silvaris and the other defenders simply disappear from Gracevale. (Chapters 2148, 2150, and 2152)

Silvaris later appears in a recording as one of the Eternals deployed by Nux's forces against the Light Borns. Lord Light interprets this as evidence that Nux recruits the beings he takes, while also considering mind control or a change produced inside Nux's universe. The recording proves Silvaris is active and fighting for the opposing army, but it does not establish whether his loyalty is willing, coerced, rewritten, or otherwise enforced. (Chapter 2175)

Appearance and personality

Silvaris is a tall Seraphkin with silver skin and hair, solid golden eyes without visible irises, golden wings, and two halos. He wears a golden-white robe, and the divine light reflected by his halos appears connected to every being around him. (Chapter 2145)

He initially presents himself as imperious and certain that his office will be obeyed. His thoughts reveal a colder pragmatism beneath Gracevale's public ideals: he does not personally care whether Carlen survives, but he does care about the duty and appearance attached to his station. Once Nux ignores his Domain, Silvaris becomes cautious, although Sharnoth gives him almost no time to respond. (Chapters 2145–2146)

Abilities and cultivation

Eternal Domain and absolute commands

As an Eternal, Silvaris can create a Domain of flowing golden light. Within it, his spoken command to Kneel takes control of affected bodies, compelling even airborne victims to assume the posture. This is demonstrated as broad area control over everyone nearby, but the exact radius, duration, energy cost, and governing Law are not named. (Chapter 2145)

The technique is not irresistible. Nux remains unaffected without visibly deploying a counter-Domain, and Sharnoth can move inside it, though the source treats both cases as violations of the normal rule rather than ordinary counters. Once Sharnoth's Chaos Energy disrupts Silvaris's internal control, the Domain cracks and collapses because he can no longer supply or stabilize it. (Chapters 2145–2146)

Eternal physique and energy control

Silvaris survives a hand driven through his chest and multiple energy tentacles long enough to attempt resistance and reach for a communication artifact. He tries to force the foreign energy from his body, but Chaos Energy weakens his control over his own power and overwhelms him from within. No named offensive technique, personal Law, recovery method, or later upgrade is shown. His later battlefield appearance confirms continued combat capability after capture, but the recording does not reveal new mechanics or the extent of his restoration. (Chapters 2146 and 2175)

Relationships

• Nux Leander: Silvaris treats Nux as a threat to Gracevale and attempts to impose his Domain on him. Nux reads his memories, takes him into the inner universe, and later deploys him as part of an Eternal army. (Chapters 2145–2150 and 2175)
• Sharnoth: Sharnoth bypasses Silvaris's apparent Domain authority, attacks his interior with Chaos Energy, prevents him from calling reinforcements, and holds him unconscious until Nux takes him. (Chapter 2146)
• Carlen: Silvaris intervenes in Carlen's defense because of his institutional role, not personal attachment. Carlen dies when Silvaris's command fails to affect Nux. (Chapter 2145)
• Gracevale's Eternals: Silvaris is one of their strongest members and commands them to attack after his defeat. They share his eventual capture, though the corpus does not show their later relationships with one another inside Nux's universe. (Chapters 2146–2150)

Silvaris attempts to use an unidentified communication artifact to summon reinforcements, but Sharnoth pierces his arm before activation. The artifact's name, origin, later fate, and operating limits are not established. (Chapter 2146)
