Manya Tashe

Manya Tashe is the only daughter of Earl Wulfsige Tashe and a second-decade student at Skyfall's Royal Academy. She helps Nux complete his admission and navigate the Academy, then witnesses the bullying of Royce. Her admiration for Candice initially keeps her from questioning the noble hierarchy that enables it.

Biography

Helping a new Academy student

Manya first appears serving a duty shift at an Academy counter, exchanging proof of hunted beasts for Academy coins. She is bored and dismissive toward an ordinary admirer, but becomes attentive when the handsome Nux approaches the wrong counter. She processes his admission anyway, rebukes students who interrupt him, and agrees to give him a tour after her shift. Her favorable treatment is openly influenced by attraction, although she also recognizes his young age and Advance Stage cultivation as genuine talent. (Chapters 228–229)

Learning that Nux is a commoner does not make Manya reject him. She argues that his talent could carry him to Grand Master rank and force even an Earl to respect him, then asks him to use her name rather than call her Senior because they share the same Academy decade. During the tour, she explains Academy divisions, classes, currency, and the Battle Hall, warning him that older students bait newcomers into wagering away their points. Their easy companionship continues afterward, but the corpus does not establish a romance or a meeting beyond the Academy episodes. (Chapters 229–230 and 241)

Witnessing Royce's abuse

While walking with Nux, Manya sees Oswald and two other older boys rob and beat the much younger Royce. She immediately wants to stop them, but Nux holds her back while waiting to see how the Academy's existing authority responds. Manya is relieved when Candice arrives and treats her as a respected senior, only to watch Candice endorse the idea that the weak must accept what the strong do to them. Manya leaves with Nux after the confrontation, apparently accepting rather than challenging that lesson. (Chapters 230–232)

Nine days later, Manya follows a crowd to Nux's classroom and confirms that she witnessed the earlier attack. She enthusiastically repeats Candice's statement as a principle she has memorized, unintentionally helping Nux expose the contradiction between Candice's defense of Oswald and her outrage when Nux attacks stronger students on Royce's behalf. This is Manya's last appearance; the source does not show whether the argument changes her admiration for Candice or her view of the Academy hierarchy. (Chapters 253–254)

Appearance and personality

Manya has brown hair, brown eyes, a well-structured nose, cherry-like lips, and an attractive smile. She is considered better-looking than average and receives frequent attention from male students. No height, build, age, or clothing description is supplied. (Chapter 228)

She can be lazy and openly partial at her counter, shifting from indifference to warmth when Nux attracts her. She is nevertheless sociable, helpful, and not personally contemptuous of common birth. Her instinct is to protect Royce, but her deference to Candice and uncritical acceptance of the “strong rule the weak” lesson reveal how deeply Academy status assumptions shape her judgment. (Chapters 228–232 and 254)

Abilities and cultivation

Manya identifies herself as a second-decade student, and the Academy's own structure places second-decade students at the Advance Stage. The source does not state her exact substage, affinity, cultivation method, spell, weapon, direct combat feat, or later progression. Her noble birth and Academy attendance should not be treated as evidence of power beyond that classification. (Chapter 229)

Her demonstrated competencies are administrative and local rather than supernatural. She processes hunt rewards and admission records, understands the Academy's class and currency systems, and guides a new student through its major buildings and risks. No battle shows how she applies her cultivation or what limits it has. (Chapters 228–230)

Relationships

  • Nux: Manya is attracted to Nux and gives him unusually attentive help during admission and his tour. They remain friendly afterward, but no mutual courtship, partnership, or later relationship is established. (Chapters 228–230 and 241)
  • Candice: Manya admires Candice and treats her words as authoritative. Her testimony later supports Nux's rebuttal of Candice, but the corpus does not show Manya consciously turning against her. (Chapters 231–232 and 253–254)
  • Royce: Manya wants to intervene when older students beat Royce and is stopped by Nux. She later confirms the attack publicly, helping establish the facts even though she does not directly protect Royce in the original scene. (Chapters 230 and 253–254)

Items

Manya handles Academy coins and hunt proofs while assigned to the reward counter, but these are institutional materials rather than her possessions. No personal weapon, storage item, artifact, or signature object is attributed to her. (Chapters 228–229)
