Ithania Ruinous

Ithania Ruinous, originally Ithania Sky, is one of the founders of the restored Vampire kingdom, the wife of Azriel, and one of Aeliana's two mothers. Born into slavery, she helped raise the defeated Vampires beyond their former glory before dying alongside Luminia during the invasion of Yrniel. Azriel restores both women near the end of the supplied corpus.

Biography

From slavery to the Blood Kingdom

Ithania began as a slave, but her intelligence let her deceive cultivators far above her own stage. She eventually joined Luminia, then the strongest surviving Vampire, in rebuilding a race that had been reduced to slavery and weakened below even the Humans. The two women became feared by the other races and established a Vampire kingdom stronger than the Vampires had possessed before their fall. The source attributes this achievement to both women but does not preserve Ithania's individual campaigns or the circumstances in which she first met Luminia and Azriel. (Chapter 1621)

Her original surname was Sky. Later Vampires retained that name in honor of the ancestor who had abandoned it, and the Blood Kingdom's castle was named for Ithania Sky. Azriel identifies her as his wife but states that the later Vampire royal family are neither his nor Ithania's direct descendants; Aeliana is their only true daughter. Ithania, Luminia, and Azriel raised Aeliana together during a period of peace and inter-racial cooperation in Yrniel. (Chapters 1446, 1607, and 1931–1932)

The invasion and a death chosen over capture

Ithania and Luminia had both reached the Eternal Stage by the time Yrniel became embroiled in an otherworldly war. They are jointly credited with incapacitating Orynthar, although the later account gives no technique, battlefield sequence, or division of responsibility between them. When enemy forces eventually surrounded the women, they self-destructed rather than be captured and used against Azriel. Their deaths, together with the wider losses among Yrniel's Progenitors, drove Azriel to seal himself inside Yrniel's Core. (Chapters 1446, 1965, and 2403)

Ithania's influence survived her. Aeliana learned about both mothers from the surviving Progenitors, while the kingdom preserved Ithania's earlier name in its castle and the Sky surname. An alternate-timeline vision encountered by Nux takes place before Azriel had met Ithania; it supplies no additional event from Ithania's own life and should not be treated as a second version of her biography. (Chapters 1607, 1931–1932, and 2011–2012)

Restoration and reunion

After becoming an Infinity and connecting to the Universe's Core, Azriel located Ithania's and Luminia's souls after countless reincarnations. He removed the memories of those intervening lives, restored the original memories that had been erased, and rebuilt their bodies through Life and Creation. Ithania awoke believing only moments had passed since the self-destruction, but quickly inferred that Azriel had endured a much longer separation. Her restored body also returned her to the strength she had possessed at her peak. (Chapters 2403 and 2406)

Ithania initially drew a sword on the unfamiliar Nux, then dropped her hostility when he identified himself as Aeliana's husband. She and Luminia reunited with Aeliana and met their grandson, Samael, folding rapidly into the much larger family that had formed during their absence. Back in Yrniel, Ithania recognized the emotional walls Azriel had built after losing them and encouraged him to speak honestly. She remains alive with her family at her last appearance. (Chapters 2404–2405 and 2407–2409)

Appearance and personality

In her restored body, Ithania has long blue hair, pale flawless skin, and crimson eyes. Because Azriel reconstructs her exactly as he remembers her, the description establishes her post-restoration appearance but gives no separate account of how age or injury affected her before death. (Chapter 2403)

Ithania is historically characterized by exceptional intelligence: even as a slave, she could fool stronger cultivators. After her return, the same perceptiveness appears in how quickly she realizes that a long interval has passed and how readily she reads Azriel's guarded emotional state. She is protective enough to arm herself against an unknown intruder, yet immediately redirects that intensity into excitement and affection when she learns that Aeliana is nearby. (Chapters 1621, 2403–2405, and 2409)

Abilities and cultivation

Ithania was an Eternal Stage cultivator before her death, and Azriel's restoration returns her to that peak strength. Together, she and Luminia incapacitated the world of Orynthar, demonstrating strategic power on an interworld scale, but the report never identifies Ithania's Law, bloodline ability, Domain, attack, activation method, range, cost, or counter. The joint feat therefore cannot be assigned to a specific personal technique. (Chapters 1965 and 2406)

Her earliest demonstrated advantage is intellectual rather than supernatural: she deceived cultivators above her stage and helped turn an enslaved people into a dominant kingdom. On revival she can manifest or retrieve a sword immediately, but she does not attack with it, and the corpus supplies no mechanics or properties for the weapon. Her self-destruction prevented capture at the cost of her life; whether it was a named cultivation technique or a general high-stage method is not stated. (Chapters 1621, 2403–2404)

Ithania's reconstructed body and returned peak cultivation are Azriel's work, not an innate resurrection ability of her own. No post-revival battle establishes whether the process changed her former powers, and no cultivation stage beyond Eternal is given for her by Chapter 2409. (Chapters 2403, 2406, and 2409)

Relationships

  • Azriel: Ithania is Azriel's wife. Her death contributes to his long isolation, and after restoring her he is able to acknowledge the grief and emotional distance he had hidden behind. (Chapters 1446, 1931–1932, 2403, and 2409)
  • Luminia: Luminia is Ithania's co-wife, fellow kingdom-builder, and final battlefield companion. They choose death together, are restored together, and jointly resume their place in the family. (Chapters 1621, 1965, and 2403–2409)
  • Aeliana: Aeliana is Ithania's only true daughter. Ithania's first priorities after learning how much time has passed are finding Aeliana and embracing her. (Chapters 1446, 1932, and 2404–2405)
  • Nux: Ithania initially treats Nux as an unknown threat, then accepts his place as Aeliana's husband. His unusual marital family and overwhelming power continue to surprise her. (Chapters 2404–2405 and 2409)
  • Samael: Samael is Ithania's grandson. Their first meeting is tearful and affectionate despite the generations Ithania missed while dead. (Chapter 2405)

Items

Ithania produces an unnamed sword when confronting Nux after her revival. She lowers it without fighting, so its origin, grade, powers, ownership history, and later custody remain unknown. (Chapter 2404)
