Samael

Samael Leander is the son of Nux and Aeliana, and Azriel's grandson. He is one of the most disciplined Leander children, often responding to his siblings' troublemaking with restraint, while his bond with Azriel draws out a warm family role rarely visible in the older Vampire.

Biography

Bridging the Leander and Ruinous families

Samael appears when he calls the children to the family gathering. His concise manner contrasts with Azarion's playful evasions, and the two immediately recognize when another sibling is causing trouble. Within the children's social groups, he is close to other composed, control-oriented children such as Noctis, Caelum, Orion, Seraphyne, and Azarion. (Chapters 2309–2310 and 2318)

Before Nux locks his universe, Aeliana often takes Samael outside to visit Azriel. Nux's decision ends those visits because the threat from Zylarith makes even a deeply valued grandparent relationship an unacceptable risk. When the universe finally opens, the eleven-year-old Samael accompanies Aeliana into the reunion with Ithania and Luminia.
