Headmaster

Eliyard Kingson is the King-stage Headmaster of the Royal Academy and one of Skyfall's most powerful public officials. His attempt to enforce the Academy's rules against Nux's hidden household ends with his defeat and magical enslavement, after which he continues performing his public duties on Nux's behalf.

Biography

Stewarding the Academy's rare talents

Eliyard's position makes him both the Academy's administrator and one of the kingdom's eight known King-stage powers. He takes Candice as a personal student after her defeat because her Exceptional affinity makes her a rare candidate to become a future Emperor and protector of Skyfall. When he meets Nux, he laughs at the younger man's ability to unsettle Candice and offers him the same personal instruction. Nux refuses in favor of Arvina. Eliyard presses the advantage of training under a King, but accepts the rejection rather than using his authority to force it. His investment in Candice and Nux is tied to the Academy's responsibility to develop scarce talent, though competition with Arvina also shapes his approach. (Chapters 202, 282, 286–289)

The Academy taken from within

Eliyard later learns that Arvina is sheltering unregistered guests in her Academy mansion. Concerned with security and the servants' accountability to him, he orders her to remove them by the next day and warns that he will intervene personally. Nux interprets that enforcement as a threat to the base he wants inside the capital and chooses to seize the Academy. Eliyard attempts to kill the unexpectedly King-stage student who breaks into his mansion, but Nux is overwhelmingly faster and stronger and beats him without needing a named technique; when Eliyard tries to flee, Nux's wives intercept and disable him. (Chapters 381–386)

Eliyard initially performs defiance in hope that his captors will kill him rather than torture him, but Ember recognizes that he fears pain more than death. Once tested, he immediately accepts Nux's Slave Seal and then tries to escape; the seal's punishment ends that resistance. Eliyard turns over his mansion, dismisses Candice, and adopts exaggerated obedience because even disloyal intent can trigger the pain. His loyalty is therefore magically enforced, not a voluntary conversion. He nonetheless proves administratively useful, cooperating with Keeve's Academy search and conducting Evane's farewell assembly with practiced warmth. (Chapters 386–394, 413)

Eliyard later accompanies the rulers' confrontation over Herms's treaty violations and acts on Alcimus's order to prepare the Woods army after war is declared. He still displays his own prejudices—rebuking Nux for speaking among Emperors—until learning how closely Nux is connected to the assembled rulers. This is his latest direct appearance in the main continuity. A later Eliyard subdued during Lilith's simulated life for Nux is an illusionary reconstruction and does not constitute a second enslavement or later event for the real Headmaster. Appearance and personality

Eliyard is about 1.8 meters tall with a large build, brown eyes, a straight nose, thin eyebrows, and a bald head. He wears a lavish purple coat. Nux and his circle frequently call him Baldy, but the term is a mocking nickname rather than a title he adopts. The beating that precedes his enslavement breaks his nose and badly bruises his face; healing potions treat the wounds, and no lasting disfigurement is later described. (Chapters 286–287, 385–388)

He initially appears amiable, laughing easily at Candice's arguments and praising her talent, yet he is also proud of rank and strict about institutional control. Eliyard can accept Nux's refusal as a student, but he expects obedience when Academy security is involved and looks down on people who speak above their perceived station. His apparent bravery under capture is a tactic born from an extreme fear of pain. Once the Slave Seal proves that resistance produces exactly what he fears, he becomes conspicuously compliant and anticipates Nux's domestic demands. His later public speaking shows that this fear-driven submission does not erase his longstanding competence as an educator and administrator. (Chapters 286–289, 381–413, 598–599)

Abilities and cultivation

King-stage mana cultivation

Eliyard is a King-stage human mana cultivator with High talent. His rank makes him comparable in formal stage to Skyfall's king and senior generals, but the corpus shows no named spell, elemental affinity, aura application, or quantified range. When Nux invades his room, Eliyard summons a sword from storage and attacks with killing intent; Nux repeatedly knocks him away while explicitly holding back, and the women stationed outside intercept Eliyard's attempted escape. The encounter demonstrates that Eliyard can arm himself quickly but supplies no successful combat feat against an equal-stage opponent. Nux's superior speed and physical output, together with the group's prepared containment, decisively counter him. (Chapters 202, 286, 314, 385–386)

No later scene shows Eliyard advancing beyond King or developing a new technique. He can organize Academy personnel, supervise students, and act as an official in a multi-kingdom delegation, but these are institutional applications of his status rather than magical abilities. His latest exact mana reserves and combat condition remain unstated. (Chapters 394, 413, 598–599)

Slave Seal

The Slave Seal is Nux's external restraint, not Eliyard's power. It activates after Eliyard verbally accepts slavery and places foreign energy inside him. Merely intending to flee triggers overwhelming pain, making future betrayal prohibitively difficult; the seal does not require Nux to strike him or remain beside him. Eliyard's fear makes him unusually quick to comply once this effect is demonstrated. The corpus does not give a removal method, maximum operating distance, or evidence that the seal changes his cultivation stage. (Chapters 387–388)

Relationships

• Nux: Eliyard first sees Nux as a rare student worth recruiting. After enforcing the guest rule against Arvina, he becomes the target of Nux's Academy takeover and is enslaved. He thereafter supplies a mansion, authority, and official service under magical compulsion rather than freely chosen allegiance. (Chapters 286–289, 381–413, 598–599)
• Arvina: Eliyard and Arvina share leadership of the Academy but compete over promising students. He respects her position only within the limits of his own authority and orders her guests removed; she witnesses his defeat and accepts Nux's takeover without intervening for him. (Chapters 282–289, 381–388)
• Candice: Eliyard takes Candice as a personal student because her affinity may make her a future protector. Under Nux's first post-enslavement order, he expels her from his mansion and disowns the teaching relationship, demonstrating how the seal overrides his earlier investment. (Chapters 282–289, 388)
• Evane: Eliyard presides over Evane's Academy farewell, drawing on years of experience to lead her students through a warm public sendoff. Their direct personal relationship is otherwise sparsely described. (Chapter 413)

Items

Eliyard carries a storage ring containing a sword and healing potions. The sword has no stated name, material, technique, or special effect, and the potions are ordinary emergency supplies rather than defining artifacts. No individually significant item remains associated with him. (Chapters 385–388)
