Auren

Auren Light is the third-ranked being of the Supreme World of Light, beneath only Seraphielle and Lord Light, and is titled the Strongest Child of Light. He treats worlds and subordinates as expendable instruments of Light's authority, but Nux defeats and devours him before he can enact a trap for the Anomaly.

Biography

Making Vexarion bait for the Anomaly

Auren arrives at Aurendor under Seraphielle's direct orders and reduces its Progenitor, Vexarion, to kneeling obedience in his own hall. He knows Vexarion's duel with Sharnoth is a personal trap and insists he participate precisely because Nux may intervene. Auren promises reinforcements once the Anomaly appears but treats Vexarion's survival as secondary to certainty about Nux's power. (Chapter 2186)

He presents this coercion as salvation and Light's grace. Before leaving, he places a Mark of Light on Vexarion so he can track both movement and condition, and he considers reading the Progenitor's memories if given any suspicious pretext. This surveillance reflects a broader method: outward purity supports a system in which disobedience is evidence requiring deeper violation. (Chapters 2186–2188)

Defeated before the trap begins

Sharnoth isolates the hall to reconstruct the ambush that destroyed her father. Auren notices the change and turns back, but Nux intercepts him. Less than a minute after leaving Vexarion, the Strongest Child of Light is unconscious and being dragged back by his hair. The corpus does not depict the exchange, so the exact attack and whether surprise contributed remain unknown; later assessments nevertheless state that Nux knocked him out in less than a second. Nux subsequently devours Auren and turns him into a puppet within his immortal army. He uses Auren's familiar abuse to convince the imprisoned Vexarion that a genuine rescuer has arrived, then returns him to Sharnoth and breaks that hope. Memories used against the authority of Light

Auren's extracted memories reveal that his public holiness concealed calculated cruelty. They show him withholding abundant aid unless recipients can repay it, scorching prisoners' souls for pleasure, taking offerings to alter judgments, erasing a world's population after resistance, and supporting teachings that equate Light with obedience. These are recorded acts presented from his memories, not later accusations by an unrelated narrator. (Chapters 2259–2260)

Nux distributes different recordings across millions of Worlds to attack the legitimacy of Light and declare war on its Supreme World. Auren therefore becomes evidence against the institution he enforced: his fall proves an Eternal can be captured, while his memories expose the cost of the purity he represented. He remains a puppet in Nux's universe at the latest established point, with no restored agency shown. (Chapters 2258–2266)

Appearance and personality

Auren is covered in golden brilliance, has golden eyes and golden-white hair, and wears golden robes that move like liquid sunlight. His halo resembles a blazing sun rather than a simple ring, and the surrounding light appears to obey his presence. The corpus does not state his height or an unilluminated facial description. He speaks softly and politely while using overwhelming pressure, surveillance, and institutional rank to demand obedience. He is disciplined about the image of holiness in public, but private memories show sadism, contempt for weaker lives, and willingness to use famine, torture, or genocide as demonstrations of Light's order. Abilities and cultivation

Eternal Light-born authority

Auren is an Eternal Supreme Born and the strongest Child of Light below the two highest beings of his Supreme World. His aura expands like a tide, cracks marble under Vexarion's knees, bends the concept of purity, and makes ambient light respond to him. Comparative narration places him far above Vexarion and among the strongest beings after the four Infinities, but the corpus does not name his personal Law, Domain, Path, or original ascent. Recorded memories show large-scale Light applications: soul-scorching restraints, authority over Light armies, and an attack that wipes out a World's population in one move. The last effect is a remembered historical act rather than an on-page battle with measurements, so its activation, preparation, range, cost, and resistance threshold remain unknown. (Chapter 2259)

Nux defeats Auren before any present-day combat technique is shown. His status and comparative reputation therefore establish extreme power, but no representative duel demonstrates how he attacks, defends, heals, or counters another Eternal. After devouring, his Supreme bloodline and abilities are connected to Nux's universe and his independent latest mastery is unknown. (Chapters 2188, 2225, and 2242)

Mark of Light

Auren places a golden Mark of Light by touching Vexarion's shoulder. It continuously tracks Vexarion's movements and condition and is expected to alert Auren when danger occurs. Auren senses the hall's isolation and returns, but Nux intercepts him before the mark can deliver the rescue Vexarion expects. (Chapters 2186–2188)

The source does not state the mark's maximum range, duration, removal method, energy cost, or whether it can transmit thoughts. Vexarion also fears Auren reading his mind, and Nux reports that Auren considered reading his memories, but the actual memory-reading mechanism is not demonstrated before Auren's capture.
