Armando

Armando Callen is a King Stage general of the Solid Earth Kingdom whom Nux coerces into becoming a slave and military informant. Armando initially accepts the seal while imagining that he can infiltrate the mysterious enemy, but its compulsion makes that self-justification impossible; his intelligence later helps expose Herms's treaty violations.

Biography

An attempted infiltration becomes enslavement

Armando follows Deputy General Ansel out of camp after the subordinate claims to have found something important. Ansel instead leads him into Nux's ambush. Armando responds quickly and briefly drives back an Expert with his sword and Earth technique, but Nux's multi-element attacks and superior physical ability overwhelm him despite the stage difference. Faced with the prospect of indefinite torture and a convincing cover story for his death, Armando agrees to become a slave while privately framing the choice as infiltration. (Chapters 322–324)

The Slave Seal immediately punishes that intention and teaches him that even thoughts of betrayal cause agony. Armando then answers questions about the Solid Earth Kingdom, Herms, and its army. When he returns to camp injured, he claims that the unknown assassin escaped and subtly redirects suspicion away from Nux. He begins transmitting troop identities, affinities, numbers, orders, and Herms's plans to his new master. (Chapters 324–355)

The informant inside Herms's war

Armando's reports establish that Herms is violating the Treaty of Eternal Peace and intends to provoke Alcimus into open intervention. He maintains his public role as a general, informs Nux and Amaya when reinforcements move, and explains that the Solid Earth campaign is designed to harass and plunder rather than win quickly. His coerced access becomes the foundation of the counterplan against Herms. (Chapters 355, 460, and 561–573)

During the resulting battle, Armando preserves his cover by summoning reinforcements and attacking alongside the other generals. Amaya specifically prevents her allies from killing him because he remains their informant. This dual role limits his agency: his battlefield actions still harm the opposing side, but the seal and the counterplan determine which information he supplies and whether he survives. (Chapters 574–577)

Testimony ends the disguise

Armando finally appears beside Alcimus and publicly confirms Herms's plans and treaty breaches before Astaria. Herms accuses his trusted general of betrayal and lying, but Armando's presence, documentary evidence, and Herms's reaction make denial untenable. The testimony strips away Armando's cover and helps force the conflict into the open. (Chapters 596–598)

The corpus does not show Armando's punishment, release from the Slave Seal, or later allegiance after Herms declares war, nor whether Astaria continues to use his evidence. His latest confirmed state is alive and openly separated from the command structure he had infiltrated, with the personal consequences of disclosure left unresolved. (Chapter 598)

Appearance and personality

The supplied corpus does not give a stable description of Armando's hair, eyes, build, or usual uniform. He is shown carrying a sword and bears leg wounds after his first encounter with Nux. (Chapters 322–328)

Armando is stern with subordinates, tactically cautious, and initially loyal enough to his kingdom to reinterpret surrender as a chance for heroic infiltration. He can maintain a cover under Herms's scrutiny and react decisively during battle, but terror of the seal becomes an unavoidable pressure on every decision. (Chapters 322–355 and 561–598)

Abilities and cultivation

Armando is a King Stage mana cultivator and experienced general. He wields a sword and demonstrates Ground Tremor, a four-star Earth skill that moves the ground beneath an opponent to break balance and create an opening for a follow-up strike. Nux recognizes it as Armando's signature move. The corpus does not name Armando's cultivation method, explain how he acquired the skill, or show higher variants. (Chapters 322–323)

His physical senses detect Ansel's rear attack, his strength overwhelms an Expert in a direct sword clash, and he can keep pace with a running deputy general. Against Nux, however, he cannot detect the initial concealed strike, loses to a combination of four elements and superior physical statistics, and is disabled through wounds to both calves. These provide demonstrated counters to his normal awareness and Earth-assisted sword combat. (Chapters 322–324)

Armando also directs formations, calls reinforcements with signal firecrackers, and identifies withdrawal thresholds under mass-casualty pressure. These are command skills and military tools, not innate powers. Later battle scenes do not establish a new cultivation stage or named technique beyond Ground Tremor. (Chapters 574–577)

Nux's Slave Seal enables hidden communication and compels Armando through pain. The communication and enforcement are external effects bestowed on him, not Armando's own telepathy or loyalty technique. No counter, removal method, or latest progression beyond King Stage is shown. (Chapters 324–355 and 561–598)

Relationships

  • Nux: Nux defeats Armando, manipulates him into accepting the Slave Seal, and uses him as a military source. Armando's initial plan to infiltrate Nux collapses as soon as the seal reacts to disloyal thought. (Chapters 322–355)
  • Amaya: Amaya devises the psychological route that makes Armando accept slavery and later manages his reports. She protects his operational value during battle, not from personal attachment. (Chapters 323–324 and 570–577)
  • Herms: Herms trusts Armando as a Solid Earth general and shares the plans that Armando leaks. Armando eventually testifies against him in public, ending that relationship and exposing the treaty breach. (Chapters 353–355 and 596–598)
  • Alcimus: Armando's information helps Alcimus understand the campaign designed to provoke him. He later stands with Alcimus and supplies firsthand testimony against Herms. (Chapters 573 and 596–598)
  • Ansel: Armando regards his deputy as trusted until Ansel leads him into Nux's ambush. Nux then compels Armando to beat Ansel as part of establishing control. (Chapters 322 and 326)

Items

  • Unnamed sword: Armando uses a sword in his first fight with Nux and later battlefield engagements. No canonical name or unique property is established. (Chapters 322 and 575)
  • Signal firecrackers: Armando launches three red signals to call reinforcements during the Woods battle. They are military equipment rather than innate magic, and their later custody is not given. (Chapter 574)
