Kazogonaga

Kazogonaga, commonly called Kazo, is a rainbow-colored anteater from Hestia who becomes an international celebrity on Earth. His entertainment career and access to James’s Bifrost Bridge make him a friendly intermediary between worlds, and he later guides visitors from Elysium and commentates the first interplanetary Olympics.

Biography

Abyssal invasion and broken memories

Kazogonaga is first described retrospectively rather than appearing in person: during the two years following visitors’ arrival from Hestia, his song “I Am Rolling!” sells billions of copies and makes the rainbow-colored anteater Earth’s most popular otherworldly celebrity. His success establishes that Earth has begun accommodating visitors and unusual beings without panic. It also gives Kazo a public identity and practical influence that later lets him enter film sets, hotels, and public venues as a welcomed guest rather than an unknown creature. (Chapter 1109)

Open Heaven’s Gate

When Lux meets Kazo at Maple and Cinnamon’s birthday, Kazo explains the aftermath of Lux’s disappearance from Cantarella and tells him that Luna remains sad. He cannot open routes between worlds himself, but directs Lux to James, whose Bifrost Bridge needs fixed coordinates and a prepared connection. Kazo then uses his own celebrity access to escort Lux onto Luna’s desert film set, creating a socially credible route to her even after the supernatural travel succeeds. Once James stabilizes the Earth–Elysium connection, Kazo guides Lux’s younger companions around the city, combining interworld familiarity with patient supervision. (Chapters 1178–1179, 1224)

Kazo later becomes the live commentator for the first Elsoetia Olympics, broadcasting the Iron Man competition across Elysium, Solais, and Hestia. He follows the event on a Wyvern, reports changes in the race, and reacts in surprise when Eiko’s Slime Army enters outside the planned program. This latest role develops his celebrity from Earth-based singer and actor into a recognizable voice connecting several worlds through a shared public spectacle, even though he envies the slimes’ chance to roll through the contestants himself. (Chapters 1230–1231)

Appearance and personality

Kazogonaga is a sentient anteater covered in rainbow-colored fur. He is small enough to jump onto a specially prepared chair and can roll down the Bifrost Bridge, but the corpus gives no exact height or eye color. Sociable, theatrical, generous, and self-confident, he enjoys attention without treating fans dismissively. He also behaves warmly toward children, promises time with Maple and Cinnamon despite a demanding schedule, and supervises Eiko’s group responsibly on Earth. (Chapters 1178, 1224, 1230–1231)

Interworld and media abilities

Celebrity access and broadcasting

Kazo’s fame gives him access to controlled film locations, complimentary hospitality, public trust, and a vast audience. He performs music, acts in films and television, accommodates fans seeking autographs, and delivers live commentary across three worlds. These are professional and social capabilities rather than mind control: he still depends on crews, organizers, projections, vehicles, and established communications. During the Olympics he reports events rather than controlling the unexpected Slime Army, and he is as surprised as the spectators when the program changes. (Chapters 1109, 1178–1179, 1224, 1230–1231)

Bifrost travel knowledge

Kazo regularly uses the Bifrost Bridge and understands that James must establish fixed coordinates and a connection before it can join separate worlds. Kazo can guide travelers once a route exists, but the corpus explicitly assigns the bridge’s world-connecting power to James rather than Kazo. He therefore cannot create an instant route on demand. His practical contribution is navigation, local knowledge, and using his Earth reputation to keep an otherworldly entourage from being blocked after arrival. (Chapters 1178–1179, 1224)

Relationships

  • Lux: Kazo knows Lux through Cantarella, informs him about Luna, and helps make Lux’s return to an Earth film set possible. (Chapters 1178–1179)
  • Luna: They are professional acquaintances from film work; Kazo recognizes Luna’s grief after Lux vanishes and helps arrange a reunion visit. (Chapters 1178–1179)
  • James: Kazo relies on James to establish Bifrost routes and directs Lux to him for interworld travel. (Chapters 1178–1179, 1224)
  • Maple and Cinnamon: The twins call him Uncle Kazo; he brings birthday gifts and promises an amusement-park trip. (Chapter 1178)
  • Eiko: Kazo supervises Eiko and the other little travelers on Earth, then commentates the race disrupted by her Slime Army. (Chapters 1224, 1231)
