Dracul

Dracul is a three-thousand-year-old Vampire King, infamous Necromancer, and guardian of the Necromancer's Ancestral Grounds. His genial manner conceals uncompromising devotion to the sacred land, a priority that leads him to kill Lux before later accepting a constrained second chance under Vera's authority.

Biography

The Dragon kingdoms and the Abyss

Dracul greets Gaap as an old acquaintance and introduces himself to Lux with jokes about drinking the youth's blood. He appears relaxed, preferring wine and near-immortal seclusion to outside wars, yet his guardianship makes him the Ancestral Grounds' strongest active defender. He referees Lux and Lorelei's duel with a severe doctrine: Necromancers bear responsibility for their own actions and cannot expect parental fairness (Chapters 754, 760, 762–763).

When Lux's breakthrough destabilizes the sacred land, Dracul instantly chooses the institution over the individual and crushes Lux's heart. He believes the killing necessary and offers Gaap extraordinary compensation, but the land withdraws its blessing and Vera later seizes guardianship. Dracul still shelters the gathered Necromancers from invading Saints, though he initially refuses to protect Lux, revealing that institutional duty survives even after his judgment proves disastrously incomplete (Chapters 764–773).

Vera spares Dracul at Hereswith's request, subjects him to punishment, and then restores his guardianship on the condition that she can revoke it at will. Dracul swears not to antagonize Lux again and later senses Vera's return immediately, offers assistance, and flees in mist before she can reconsider. His reconciliation is pragmatic rather than sentimental, but it reestablishes him as custodian under a higher check (Chapters 774, 779–791).

The Divine Army reckoning

Dracul remains an information point for Necromancers as the Divine Army crisis develops. Kieran visits the Ancestral Grounds to discuss the planned execution of Hereswith's disciple, and Lux later asks Dracul about active Beast Tides. Dracul directs him to the newly founded Xeno Kingdom, enabling Lux to reach the Dwarven state and assist against its crisis; his contribution here is intelligence and access rather than personal combat (Chapters 957–958).

Appearance and personality

Dracul appears as a handsome man in his early thirties despite being three thousand years old. He flies, turns into black mist, has fangs and an appetite for blood, and maintains a calm, humorous, wine-loving demeanor in ordinary company. Under threat to the Ancestral Grounds, that ease becomes cold decisiveness; he can be stubbornly unrepentant, yet he also stands before frightened Necromancers and ultimately honors Vera's imposed settlement (Chapters 754, 760, 764, 770, 779, 790).

Vampiric and guardian abilities

Dracul is both a Saint-ranked Necromancer and Vampire King. He can fly, move or appear with extreme speed, transform into black mist, sense arrivals and hostile auras across the Ancestral Grounds, and kill an unprepared Ranker by piercing the chest and crushing the heart. His vampiric durability renders ordinary Blast Bombs harmless, while feeding restores him when unsuitable Necromancer blood causes severe illness (Chapters 754, 764, 774, 790).

Within the sacred land, guardianship once amplifies him enough to stop Antero's punch and claim supremacy even against Supreme-level challengers. That power is conditional: when the land withdraws its blessing, Antero breaks his arm, six Saints become too much for Dracul to fight alone, and Vera can remove or return the office. Dracul therefore remains a formidable Saint, but his greatest territorial strength is borrowed authority rather than an unconditional personal rank (Chapters 765, 769–771, 779).

Relationships

• Gaap: Dracul treats Gaap as an old drinking acquaintance but kills his disciple, provoking Gaap to spend his life force on revenge. Their relationship remains deeply damaged (Chapters 754, 764–765).
• Lux: Dracul first finds Lux intriguing, then kills him to protect the sacred land. After Lux's breakthrough and Vera's intervention, he swears not to antagonize him and later supplies useful information (Chapters 754, 764, 779, 958).
• Vera: Vera takes the guardianship, punishes Dracul, and restores his post under revocable authority. His later anxiety around her shows that this check is credible (Chapters 771, 774, 779–790).
• Lorelei: Dracul referees Lorelei's duel and later offers to keep her safe while Kieran assists Lux, treating her as a protected junior within the sacred land (Chapters 762, 770).
