Antero

Antero is the Primordial Abyssal Golem of Destruction, progenitor of Abyssal Golems, and a sealed Demigod-class being bound through the necromantic lineage of Memento Mori. Initially summoned through Gaap at terrible cost, he later acts independently as a guardian and stabilizing authority in the Abyss. (Chapters 697, 698, 1165, 1225)

Biography

The Dragon kingdoms and the Abyss

Antero enters the Gate of Famine as a black golem more than three hundred meters tall, answering Gaap’s need by overwhelming and storing a Giant Earth Turtle. His appearance terrifies Abyssal observers because earlier rampages killed dozens of Saints. Yet his history complicates the image of a mindless destroyer: after being forced into a necromantic contract, his invulnerability helped Elysium resist invasion, while every summoning consumed the summoner’s lifespan. The same being later emerges as a protector. Hereswith’s inability to summon him while rescuing Gaap contributes to her death, and Antero subsequently provides sanctuary to Rhiannon in the cruel Abyss. Comparisons with Sion’s metallic defense and Lux’s planned Deus Gigantia establish Antero as the standard against which extreme durability is measured. Open Heaven’s Gate

After the war, Antero assumes a handsome human form and helps establish the Bifrost connection to the Abyss. He does not attempt to suppress every struggle for power; instead, he watches for acts that could awaken the sleeping Outer God and preserves the wider order of the layers. He also escorts Rhiannon at Lux’s wedding, publicly occupying a familial role rather than appearing only as an apocalyptic weapon. (Chapters 1225, 1228, 1232)

Antero’s most personal postwar action is his work with Eriol and Max to restore Gaap’s damaged soul. Their first effort creates a seed that Hereswith protects, and after two years it bears fruit in Gaap’s return. By helping recover a former summoner rather than merely obeying one, Antero closes the cost-laden history of his contract with an act of loyalty and restoration. (Chapter 1233)

Appearance and personality

Antero’s true body is a gigantic black golem at least three hundred meters tall whose arrival blocks the sun and whose hideous laughter frightens witnesses. In the postwar era he can take the form of a handsome man. He delights openly in destruction and laughs while crushing enemies, but he is also patient, familial, and selective in governance, calling Rhiannon “Little Rhiannon” and regarding Dia as his granddaughter. Abilities and skills

Antero is displayed as an Empyrean-Ranked World Boss whose true Demigod rank is sealed. Indestructible Golem of Destruction prevents any Demigod-or-lower creature from killing him; even planetary destruction would only be followed by complete regeneration. He can crush and compress gigantic monsters for storage, create nearly indestructible seals, and travel directly between Abyssal layers. These mechanics make containment and contracts more realistic counters than damage. (Chapters 697, 699, 1165)

His historical limit lies in access rather than survival. The Goddess and a Supreme Necromancer sealed his rank and bound him, while summoning him outside his independent Abyssal activity consumes the summoner’s lifespan, causing ownership to pass repeatedly through Memento Mori. Hereswith can also be prevented from calling him when enemies hold Gaap hostage. Thus Antero’s power may be overwhelming once present, but the contract’s price and coercive restrictions can keep him off the battlefield. (Chapters 698, 781)
