Cora

Cora is Laura’s baby Slime companion. She should not be confused with Laura’s twin Livia or with Nora, Livia’s Slime; Cora is the herb-sensing, stone-shooting member of the pair and remains close to Laura throughout the story.

Biography

The Lionheart Tournament and the Hidden Domain

Cora first appears helping Laura search the Aspiration Plains for herbs, sensing the plant before the children can see it and leading her master to the spot. When a Horned Rabbit steals the herb, Cora and Nora fire Stone and Water Bullets together, stunning it without killing it and allowing the twins to recover their find. The episode gives Laura useful companionship and helps show how Leaf Village’s Slimes differ from ordinary examples of their species: even as babies, they can scout, coordinate magic, and respond precisely to their young masters’ commands. (Chapter 226)

The rescue from the Abyss and the final war

During the Abyssal siege of Leaf Town, Cora is frightened but answers Cedie’s rallying cry, leaves Laura’s embrace, and joins the village Slimes in throwing Blast Bombs until their combined attack produces a nuclear-level explosion and reinforces the barrier. By Chapter 1209 she has returned to a domestic protective role in Espoir Frieden, where she and Nora absorb the shards of Rose’s dropped teacup so no one is cut. The contrast shows her development without changing her nature: Cora can face collective danger when home is threatened, yet her latest action is the small, attentive care of a household companion. (Chapters 1113, 1209)

Appearance and personality

Cora is a baby Slime small enough to perch on Laura’s head and be carried and kissed by her. She communicates through simple Slime cries and expressive movement rather than ordinary speech. Cora is alert, affectionate, and responsive to praise; although visibly afraid during the Abyssal siege, she follows Cedie and fights beside the other Slimes, giving her courage meaning precisely because the fear is present. (Chapters 226, 1113)

Abilities and skills

Cora can sense nearby herbs, fire a Stone Bullet, absorb small solid debris, and create Blast Bombs after the ability spreads among Leaf Town’s baby Slimes. Her Stone Bullet works in coordination with Nora’s Water Bullet to stun a Horned Rabbit, while the far greater siege explosion results from hundreds of Slimes merging their bombs through the Guardian Statue’s intervention. Cora therefore contributes to nuclear-level force collectively but is not shown producing that yield alone. Her latest demonstrated use of absorption is noncombat utility: safely consuming broken ceramic fragments. (Chapters 226, 1113, 1209)

Relationships

  • Laura — Cora’s master and constant companion, who trusts her scouting, commands her in danger, and comforts her during the siege. (Chapters 226, 1113)
  • Livia and Nora — Livia is Laura’s twin, while Nora is Cora’s paired Slime companion. Cora and Nora coordinate attacks and household tasks but remain distinct creatures. (Chapters 226, 1209)
  • Cedie — Heidi’s Slime and Cora’s playmate, whose call rallies her during the attack on Leaf Town. (Chapter 1113)
  • Rose — In her latest appearance, Cora helps protect Rose’s household by absorbing the shattered teacup. (Chapter 1209)
