Boreas

Boreas is a Dwarf Rider Captain assigned to Leaf Village after its Monster Outbreak. Stern and practical in the field, he becomes one of Lux’s earliest adult allies and later a founding member of Heaven’s Gate.

Biography

Awakening and Leaf Village

Boreas arrives as the Grade-B leader of thirty Black Thorn Goat Riders reinforcing Leaf Village. During the effort to rescue Robin, he initially threatens Lux against wasting the riders’ time, but accepts the Half-Elf’s tracking evidence and follows his realistic division of objectives. Boreas leads from the vanguard, confirms fallen enemies, assigns guards to Helen, catches her when Lux throws her clear of a collapsing floor, and helps the survivors escape. The deaths of his riders pain him, yet he turns grief into a resolve to eliminate the Kobold Nest rather than abandon the region. (Chapters 31, 53, 56, 59, 61)

He continues to treat Lux as a capable but vulnerable local defender. Boreas warns that delaying the Mutated Thunder Wolf King for five minutes is nearly impossible, joins the combined assault when Lux’s summons prove their master is still alive, and directs the Riders back into the fight. At Lux’s farewell he receives the same public thanks as Leaf Village’s other protectors, reflecting how their wary mission-based cooperation has become mutual respect. (Chapters 161–165, 172)

Heaven’s Gate and the continental wars

Boreas approaches Lux on his own when the young leader needs members to register a guild, calling his participation repayment for the Thunder Wolf battle. What he expects to be temporary changes when Heaven’s Gate manifests as a Mythical Guild with extraordinary buffs; he chooses to remain, keeps its nature secret, and escorts Lux through Norria’s checkpoints. Later, Thoram gives Boreas and his riders leave to attend the headquarters celebration, where Boreas learns that Lux possesses routes to Agartha and Espoir Frieden. His last appearances leave him serving both Norria and Heaven’s Gate rather than abandoning either duty. (Chapters 359–361, 432–433)

Appearance and personality

Boreas is a mounted Dwarf warrior whose normal presentation is that of a stern captain on a goat mount. The corpus emphasizes an indifferent tone, dignified commands, and a readiness to threaten anyone who endangers a mission. Beneath that severity he is observant and responsible: he changes course when Lux supplies proof, protects a young Cleric, mourns fallen subordinates, and repays a life-saving debt without being asked. His comic horror at nearly losing Mythical Guild membership does not erase that professional core. (Chapters 53, 56, 59, 359–361)

Mounted-warrior abilities

As a Grade-B Apostle, Boreas has Rank-3 physical prowess and can overwhelm ordinary Kobolds and their leaders with close-range attacks. He fights as part of a mounted formation, using the Riders’ goat charges, weapons, and disciplined vanguard/rearguard rotations rather than a named personal spell set. His fieldcraft includes reading threat levels, issuing silent preparation signals, and recognizing tactical evidence such as Lux’s still-active summons. Rank-3 strength is formidable in a Beginner region but cannot make a small party safely defeat an entire nest or guarantee survival against a Rank-5 World Boss. (Chapters 31, 56, 61, 163)

His command ability is equally important. Boreas can halt subordinates with a shout, distribute protection around a healer, hold a rear line during retreat, and use Norria-only paths and checkpoints for rapid travel. Heaven’s Gate’s regeneration, experience, learning, and crafting buffs enhance him as a member, but the corpus never records a later personal rank-up; his latest explicit rank remains Grade B. Relationships

• Lux: Boreas progresses from skeptical mission commander to grateful guildmate. Lux’s information saves the rescue effort, and his help against the Thunder Wolf gives Boreas a debt he repays by joining Heaven’s Gate. (Chapters 53–61, 161–165, 359–361)
• Robin: Robin’s recovery is the rescue mission’s immediate priority; Boreas commits his riders and suffers severe losses to bring the captive prince out alive. (Chapters 53–61)
